Spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has distanced himself from the protest against the closure of Adoration Ministry, IGBERETV reports.

Protesters took to the streets to oppose the closure of Mbaka's Adoration Ministry on Sunday, 19th June 2022.

The Bishop of Enugu Catholic Diocese, Most. Rev. Callistus Onaga barred all Catholic faithful from attending services at Father Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry,

This was after the priest had faced severe criticisms after he declared that the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, could never be Nigeria’s President because he was too stingy.

In a statement he personally signed on Monday, Mbaka said he is not in any way involved in that activity and that he received with obedience the directive of the Bishop.

He appealed to the faithful especially members of the Adoration Ministry to be calm and refrain from measures of violence.

The Catholic Church in Nigeria needs Father Mbaka. All Father Mbaka needs to do is show some remorse and commitment to avoiding partisan politics - which runs contrary to the tenets of the church - and Adoration will start again.

Who exactly is this guy and why is he so influential?

Fr. Mbaka is the most popular and influential Catholic priest in South East, if not Nigeria. He wouldn't have attained that level if he hadn't known his onions.

He can preach (he has in-depth knowledge of the Word of God), he sings professionally, he has many companies, and he pays school fees for many and feeds lots of people. Interestingly, the church runs to Mbaka whenever priests are kidnapped and the idiots are asking for ransom and he helps the church complete their projects in the region.

Lots of miracles happen at AMEN (Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria), his Enugu-based ministry. There are few Catholic priests who have such grace because the church focuses on teaching the Word of God as opposed to showing apparitional miracles. The priest is a testament that miracles happen in Catholic Church, even know the church rarely talks about it.

These are some of the reasons why he's popular and influential, but his human nature is about to destroy his grace. May God help him.
