mycar:I never said infrastructure doesn't. But my point is, there are specific infrastructure that as Nigerians, we should do them without foreign loans. Construction of infrastructure like the railway or bridge should be done with local expertise cos they will generate local funds only while foreign loans must be deployed to infrastructure that will generate the same value of the currency you borrowed. We are all facing the facing the effects today as FG must pay those loans in foreign currencies while the infrastructure is yielding local currency that's is constantly being devalued because we don't generate enough forex |

Sunmolar:That's why we need to vote in someone who we can give us accountability when they are in power. Change can start from the top which is tbe president. If the president is serious then tbe citizens will be forced to be serious too. 1 Like |

pleasureosondu:Yeah, I understand, the only reason people see it as liability is because it mostly serves as the means to siphon money, hence contract for a certain infrastructure is be awarded multiple times with reckless abandon. 1 Like |

oilykid: Every presidential elect had looked good on paper by some perculiar folks.... Just vote for who you like. The opportuned teams occupying exalted official positions care less... because they know how to manipulate every rules & agenda of previous govts that swayed. When majority of the citizens that do things right way are more than the other ones doing it wrong way, then we're ready. |

trutharena:It depends on the infrastructure under review, both parties could be right and I guess there was a mixup there because Obi himself built some infrastructures, after school is one of them. It simply boils down to the notion that money gets embezzled under the disguise of infrastructure and hence plung the country into further dept and many times, Obi has reteriated that borrowing is good if it can be used to build infrastructure that can generate revenue to repair the debt. I believe obi was quoted out of context 1 Like |

oilykid: Any agenda of who wins that will 1 reduce unemployment & insecurities, importation of finished products. 2. Increase productivity & exports 3.improve welfare of all citizens & not just the rich by taking luxurious goods more. 4.rewards good deeds. 5. Punish bad deeds no matter who. 6. Equality for all citizens across the states. 7. Commensurate pays for civil servants & private workers in their respective organization. 8. A call for public referendum on Nigerian constitution without jeopardizing the unity. 9. Any property not declared by pubic servants & politicians should be seized. 10. A peep into our record keeping & upgrading it to international standard...eg house owners, company owners, bank accounts, security, employed, non employed, youths, students, working class, elderly, religion institutions. Etc. |

Sunmolar:And all these can be achieved by voting in the right candidate. That's why need to organize a presidential debate and have them tell Nigerians what they want to and how they want to achieve it. |

trutharena:I seek to differ. You can not compare the US and Nigeria in any ramifications. Why? Because the US is an export country. So, if Biden borrows money for infrastructure which will create employment for Americans, their economy is too diversified to take care of it. Meaning they can pay without any significant impact on their economy. Nigeria borrowed money from China for infrastructure but increased taxes and tariffs, even on ordinary calls you make so that we can pay back. CBN devalued Naira severally to meet up. Did Biden do any of this to fund the infrastructure? Or will Biden invite foreign expertise to build their infrastructure? There are infrastructures that you don't need to built with foreign loans or it will cripple your economy. Rather you deployed local content. Your 10year old brother needs quality education, no pun intended. |
