Monirich Eririgo Foundation Honours Prof Ikonne's Sterling Performances by Nwokomaizuchi: 4:01am On Jul 06, 2022
In continuation of their recognition of well meaning Abians with proven track record in their fields of endeavour, Monirich Eririego Foundation on Tuesday, recognised the Governorship Candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP in 2023 election, Prof. Uche Ikonne at his Agburuike-Nsulu residence in Isiala Ngwa North LGA of Abia State.

Speaking while recognizing the sterling qualities of the Former Abia State University, Uturu Vice Chancellor, the Chairman/Founder Monirich Eririego Foundation, Chief Micheal Nwannennaya Erugo, represented by the DG of the Foundation, Magnus Obinna, said Prof. Ikonne's track record in the field of administration is outstanding.

He stated that the Foundation having recalled his performances, deemed it imperative to honour him as he helmed the affairs of the two citadels of learning viz Abia State Polytechnic, Aba and ABSU creditably, stressing that the recognition is not based on primordial sentiments but on verifiable track records which the Prof. provided at the time.

Mr Obinna re-emphasized that Monirich Eririego Foundation is a non-partisan, non-governmental organisation with the sole aim of encouraging hard work and recognising eminent Abians who have distinguished themselves in their various vocations, revealing that they will not relent in appreciating Abians of good will and repute.

Responding, the Governorship candidate of the PDP and former VC ABSU, thanked Monirich Eririego Foundation for their kind gesture and for living up to its name.

He commended the leader of the delegation, Mr. Magnus Obinna for his eloquence in delivering the core objectives of the Foundation, adding that their motive aligns with his human capacity development initiative which he has carried out over the years.

Prof Ikonne urged them to vote for the PDP despite being a non-partisan Foundation, assuring that if he emerges Governor, he will ensure that massive development of Abia is placed at the front burner.

He used the opportunity to extend his warmest regard to the founder, Chief Micheal Nwannennaya Erugo, urging him to extend his contacts in Asia as he is looking forward to partnering Asian countries and other Abians in diaspora if he emerges governor in 2023.

Correspondent reports that the high point of the visit was the presentation of the sum of N1m in recognition of Prof. Ikonne's sterling performance at citadels he steered.
