They're in saner climes with working system but want their Homeland to continue in perpetual darkness. If only they can sign a binding agreement to relocate back to Nigeria if Tinubu becomes the president. Wicked fellows. 3 Likes |

A certain BATified guy got this response from an OBIdient guy : So here are the issues: 1. Tinubu and his supporters are trying to take glory for a Lagos that was already existing and well-built while Tinubu was still a boy. Some of the infrastructures that made Lagos the popular city it is today were not built by BAT. In fact most were not even built with Lagos state money. They were built by FG. Just a few example. Apapa wharf was built in 1913 Tincan Island was built in 1977 National Arts theatre was 1977 Tafawa Belewa Square was 1972 Lagos Stadium was 1961 Murltala Mohammed Intl. Airport was 1970 Third mainland bridge was 1990 Refently commisioned Lekki port was built by FG Besides Niger Bridge, Anambra State does not have any major Federal infrastructure. 2. Lagos existed as a city as far back as 1862. Over 150 years ago. Anambra State was created in 1991 less than 31 years. Please compare Lagos to Cairo, Cape Town, Johannesburg let's see where Lagos stands 3. Lagos was the capital of Nigeria for 40 years. Do you know what that means? As the capital, huge infrastructural developments was done in Lagos by the Federal Government. Many private and public organisations built their head offices in Lagos. Foreign companies came into Lagos. Embassies of all countries came to Lagos. Many Nigerians migrated to Lagos. All these added to the revenue that Lagos enjoys today. If Tinubu is the magician he claims to be why is his own State, Osun not like Lagos? 3. If we are to swap places and I give Obi the Lagos of 1999, Obi will transform Lagos far beyond whatever BAT has done. If we give BAT the Anambra of 2004 with Zero FG presence and the Abuja-sponsored godfathers who held Anambra Hostage BAT will practically run away. Yet PO delivered relative to the resources available to him. 4. Let us for a moment give the two men equal playing field and see how they had performed. Let us remove the wealth BAT acquired through political power. Was BAT able to create wealth for himself and others before he became a governor? Nope. I even saw a report that BAT was involved in Heroine trafficking in USA! On the other hand *even before PO became a governor,* he was a Billionaire in his thirties. They say PO knows only theories. How can someone who knows only theories be a Billionaire at 40? Sitting in the Board of three publicly listed Commercial banks? It is clear therefore that under the same circumstances, BAT cannot even near PO in terms of wealth creation, knowledge of economy or infrastructural development. 4. Now coming to the claim that BAT increased the IGR of Lagos State. BAT used Alpha Beta to drive the IGR. Alpha Beta was not BAT's idea. Dapo Apara brought the proposal of using a private firm to reconcile IGR and revenues and in return the firm will get 10% of the taxes. As a governor BAT insisted that Dapo will own 30% of the Company while BAT and his cronies will own 70%. At the end of the day, BAT and his people hijacked Alpha Beta from Dapo. Dapo went to court and BAT and his people asked that the matter be settled out of court. 2 Likes 1 Share |
