A study showed that "substitutes for marital sexual gratification may impact the decision to marry. Proliferation of the Internet has made pornography an increasingly low-cost substitute. We investigate the effect of Internet usage, and of pornography consumption specifically, on the marital status of young men. We show that increased Internet usage is negatively associated with marriage formation. Pornography consumption specifically has an even stronger effect. Instrumental variables and a number of robustness checks suggest that the effect is causal".

So ladies keep making nude content and sharing it with boyfriends who will upload same to the internet. Ladies keep making x-rated content and sharing it online...you are supplying the much needed substitute for marriage among young men. And one more thing ladies, quit complaining about men not wanting to get married. With the immense drama that follows marriage and the affordability of sex and porn, as supplied by our generous ladies, you can be rest assured that many of you ladies will remain single for a very long time or will become single mothers or become baby mamas.

- Sharing of nudes between partners is a legitimate way of bonding ... provided the parties in question deem it appropriate. It is people who are in the relationship that'll determine how they'll (show) love (to) themselves. What is the difference in seeing someone's nudity and scars, having sex with them and taking a picture of that nak├Ędness to see? This is me simply seeing nudes for what it is, in itself. Same way you send love quotes, and text messages and gifts and go out on dates...sharing nudes is one of such.

Now, that is not to say relationships are ideal and that people are perfect. Things can go awry, and this is where the nudes, in the possession of a vengeful partner becomes dangerous... my point is that the fault is always from people. I mean, even Christian couples, couples that do not share nudes with each other stab themselves and pour hot water on each other's bodies, set fire to themselves: Why have we not kicked against the use of knives and kettles and matches in the kitchen? The fact that non-nude sharing couples do despicable things just to get back at each other...also shows that a wicked ex-partner can destroy one with nudes OR harmful objects or slander.

- So taking away nude pictures from the potential grim realities above, it can be a valid expression of desire and satisfaction for a couple. And THAT is not pornography. They are in a relationship, and it can be a form of intimacy... so 1, this point contradicts your premise that nude-sharing couples are reducing the chances of men marrying.

Nudes within the confines of a relationship isn't pornography as we know it... plus the guy in question is already IN the relationship... so how can something he is in still prevent him from wanting to be in it? You can say access to sex lower men's desire for a relationship... maybe. That will be another conversation. (And that's frankly the same way women making money lessens their desire for marriage, so to speak. Everybody is getting what marriage provides outside of the institution... men wanted exclusive sex, women wanted provision... now these changes and the lack that comes from them affect both genders.)

So two people are in a relationship for a number of reasons, and if it eventually doesn't lead to marriage, there'll be a number of reasons as well, of which sex might be one of the them.

- You may not be that kind of person, but theoretically, if your wife sends her nudes to you and the two of you divorces tomorrow, will you go to the Internet to upload her pictures? Or if you have any lady's nudes on your phone, and you both break up, you think it is a right thing to do to go post that online? So again, this is a crime, and using something that was shared in confidence and trust but that 'vindictively' got uploaded doesn't seem like a good point to defend your "nudity online reduces men's desire for marriage."

Is that right to you?

1. Ladies keep making x-rated content and sharing it online...

2. you are supplying the much needed substitute for marriage among young men.

3. And one more thing ladies, quit complaining about men not wanting to get married. With the immense drama that follows marriage and the affordability of sex and porn, as supplied by our generous ladies, you can be rest assured that many of you ladies will remain single for a very long time or will become single mothers or become baby mamas.

Now, to address pornography proper:

I clicked on the paper you posted... it is locked and I can't access it, but the abstract is visible.

All of your points here do not seem to be gotten from the paper, surely?

If you had wanted objective contributions and to not be biased, I think it would have been sensible for you to show us the conclusion, the hypotheses and the variables of the author(s)... did they mention "ladies sharing content online" as a variable?

It would seem as if you do not have access to the full document, too, and what would have been legit for you to do is to guess from the limited abstract available. Since they mentioned pornography... you should have started there instead of working with a fixed mindset and conclusion you want to arrive at.

1. What makes up pornography? The nude content industry is a facet of the pornography world. So perhaps you should have Googled the type of pornography men consume. And the people they patronise. The "formal" pornography industry, for example, is made up of both men and women... although we know women are usually the receiving actors of degrading sexual acts. But Bangbros, Pornhub, Xvideos, Onlyfans ... they are capitalistic sex trade enterprises run and owned by men. And a huge number of men are also participants in the sex videos themselves. So if you want us to start slicing blames, it should go round to each gender (same for music videos, etc). Women and men both created the world and the dynamics of interpersonal relationships.

2. Now that we've seen how deep and big and complex the pornography world, made accessible by the Internet, is and the article claims *that* world affect men wanting to marry... you should have asked 'how'? There is a causal relationship, what are the causal "exactness?" Cue: Google pornography effects on men. Also Google WHY pornography influences men's decision to get married? Why is pornography substituting men's desires for marriage? It is lazy to simply point fingers at women and say, "you caused it!" (Bonus tip; pornography also affect married men who consumes it).

3. From all indications, both genders complain about the lack of suitable partners, and it would seem men more so than ladies.

Yes, the same way women "give" sex and complain that no man wants to marry them is the same way men "collect" sex and complain that they can't... *checks note* find the same women they are rejecting to marry.

If 100 girls give 100 men sex, and men value chastity, then none of the 100 men and women would marry each other... but we can certainly expend our energy on arguing that the ladies have the right to "keep" just as the men have the right to "refuse". Even if those 100 ladies want to be wanton, but those 100 guys decline their sexual advances, then there'll certainly be more virgins or chaste women to marry... a woman can choose to open her legs; a sensible man will decline to enter and vice versa.

The consequences of our sexual actions are two-fold. For every single lady, there is a single guy that is SUPPOSED to marry her, for every baby mama, there is a baby papa, ... etc.

And before you come here to tell me that the consequences aren't the same, consult your friend Google first.

Even for every cheating wife that brings another man's child to the house, there is a DISGRUNTLED, HURT, etc., man... so my point is, women might have the bad attitudes and characteristics, but their actions are tied to EMOTIONAL consequences and the likes for men as well... so, don't say women's actions does not affect men in any way... that's my point. smiley smiley Not that I am arguing in favour of you men.

It is funny how you blame ladies for porn and nudes, like I don't get, we forced men to watch porn how? Did we force men to keep having imaginary sex with women on their phone or masturbate? Because you are more or less blaming females for masturbation, so who do we blame for females that masturbate then? Men abi? As in men are also at fault for women that choose not to marry and breed because they prefer to send nudes, masturbate, and watch porn? Must you people blame women for every single thing that goes wrong in your lives

And at the bolded in red, never have I seen ladies complain about men not wanting to get married, on this forum alone, it is you men that cry on our behalf every single day about not getting married, most threads on romance section alone, are created by men filled with surplus tears, you men rant and nag alot about marriage and everything ladies, so Op your blame game is trash and false,

You men really need a lot of learning and growing up to do, blaming another person for your short sightedness and lack of one thing or the other speaks low of you, own your shiit and stand by it, nobody will crucify you

You prefer nudes and porn, that's your fvcking business, we do not care,

You do not want to get married, good and fine, marry your fellow men, stay single or die single, we don't care, it is your life, live it as you see fit

Stop the lamentation on our behalf, this is the 21st century, you cannot guilt trip another human to satisfy your ego, this marriage rant is already becoming stale, silly and stupid, own your shiit and live your lives.

You have turned what should have been an educative discuss to what will become a red pill vs a feminist POV which is unfortunate.

Everyone knows that the % of private 'nudes/sex tapes' leaked to the net doesn't make up 5% (I am seriously generous) of the porn online. Infact, most of them are taken down because it is considered criminal.

Also, when men (since they are the focus here) watch leaked nudes/sex tapes', it is not for sexual gratification; it is more of shaming, gossip, or 'just to watch'. Most people don't even classify such as 'porn'.

Hence blaming men's unwillingness to marry on women because of released sex tapes/nudes is outrageous. But again, when did something coloured by red pill or feminism not end up being outrageous?

Actually this is not true. They now have sophisticated dolls made to your spec that no woman can compete with - that can totally take care of a man's sexual needs without woman wahala and nastier aspects of sex
