Your friend with whom you started this online marketing journey with, just launched her own academy... Of course, you celebrated her You are sincerely happy for her BUT! Deep down, you feel inferior. It feels like she is doing better than you They say, "If they she can do it, I can do it too" right? Then why haven't I done it? Why am I not getting writing gigs like her? Isn't it obvious that I create better contents and have more engagement than her? Slow down... As much as we generally believe that if someone can do something, we can do it too, it's not entirely true. Yes. You can do it but what if you were meant to do it differently? Have you stopped to consider the possibility that your path is totally different from hers? What if you stop measuring your success and progress with other people's yardstick? The kind of huge expectations we place on ourselves is most times what pushes us down to depression. That feeling of being inferior, not meeting up to the big expectations we place on ourselves and not doing something that others do is what lead so many young entrepreneurs like you and me, into depression. How do you deal with this? First of all, recognize how you feel... And note that you are not alone. The good and bad news is that "being depressed" is fast becoming normal in our society today and you can't deal with it if you don't know what it is. Secondly, get a pen and a paper and do these exercise: ✓ Write out how you feel. Everything that's going on in your head right now. You'll realize that when you do this, you'll feel a little bit better and you are able to think clearer. ✓ Now that the problem is out on paper, it's time to look at them with a new eye and deal with them one by one. This is just an overview but very helpful for a start. In my upcoming book titled: "Dealing with Depression as a Young Entrepreneur", I'll go into more details on: ✓ My own side of the story ✓ How I dealt with the monster ✓ and how you can do the same effortlessly and get back to your usual productive self. Is this something you'd like to get your hands on? Then send me an email. I'll notify you once the guide is ready. Meanwhile, take care of your mind; what you think, the way you react to things and most importantly, the words you say to yourself... They all have a huge part to play in our feeling inferior or getting depressed. ❤️& There's MORE ahead. |
