Love of money accounts for most of the ills in our society today politically, socially, professionally and religiously. Politically, Nigeria is plagued by corruption, a thirst for privatizing public funds. Inadequacies in almost all our national sectors are traceable to this epidemic. Socially, cybercrime, hookup, domestic violence, side-chicks and gigolos, paternity fraud, unfaithfulness, divorce, LGBT tendencies, murder, armed robbery, terrorism, drugs-pushing, oppression of less privileged persons, ritualism, and bribery exist for financial gains largely.

Professionally, contract inflation, kickbacks, competency overestimation, shoddy delivery of justice, fraud, due process evasion, false age inputs or affidavits, opaque financial reports, meritocracy oversight, unjust reward packages, unpaid salaries, management insensitivity, service/product mediocrity, conspiracy, promotion delay, and fake certificates can be tied to an unhealthy desire for money. Then religiously, fake clerics, false teachings, members manipulation, poor accountability, discrimination of poor members, undeserved awards and ordinations, unwarranted donation calls, and commercialization of prayers trouble our religions.

In fact, money in itself is good and worth having. Money gives us access to either good, better or best options available in products and services. Like money but don't love money. Liking money enables room for restraints in your money pursuits. But loving money pushes off restraints, opening you up to any means or cost possible for making money. Implication is you can trade your future, unique human dignity, body, integrity, family, marriage, fatherland, employer, or faith for a right asking price. Falling in love with money is a decision to be a slave rather than master of money. Do something--not anything--for money.

It still does not justify loving money. You have to be mindful of the kind of "problems" you solve.
