ziddy: China may not be regarded as Oyibo, but many Nigerians, especially those from tribes (names withheld for anti-tribalism reasons) who are adept at house-boying/girling (another dictionary-less vocabulary from me) call their Chinese bosses Master, right there in God's own country, Nigeria. What is "oyinbo"? If chinese people are not "oyinbo" what are they? Stop using the American concept of "white" in this context. In Nigeria where the word "oyinbo" comes from, anyone who is not "black" is termed "oyinbo". If you live in America, Chinese people are not categorized as "whites", but we are talking about Nigeria here. |
