Why should I thank you for paying me for a job well done? Is it a favour done to me? If you would be needing my appreciation for paying me, I should be getting yours as well for doing a job well done. Well, mostly works with one-man businesses. Can't relate.

To me, it's mean of any boss to demand that from a staff and lowself esteem on the part of the employee

Salary aside, what about thanking your boss for the promotion at the office which is general one..

Even though it's by choice, I can thank my boss for giving me a job but I can't thank him for paying my salary. I worked for it and he has to pay. He didn't give me the money for free

Something I works for? , there was service I rendered sometimes ago to a man, the person didn't pay on time, I didn't even bother to ask, when he later paid, I received alert and he was expecting me to come and appreciate him and to acknowledge the payment, I just lock up, I hate what I don't like, arrant nonsense

My boss will always emphasize in our general meeting and will not fail to mention piple that always thank her every month after receiving their salary, I will be like thanks for the reward of my hard work? The only way I should appreciate you for my salary is putting more effort, sometimes despleasing myself to contribute my quota to make the company excel.

I caught the same habit already. I say thank you almost everywhere and for everything. It’s simple courtesy sha. Some people feel awkward when I say thank you to them after a simple transaction.

Although one artisan pissed me off when he replied condescendingly with ‘doh’ after I said thank you to him while handing him his wage for a job he did for me. I was disgusted. And he was a middle-aged man for that matter. Some people can be terrible.
