Contacting UKVI about you visa application: https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk/y

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Your academic transcript.
2. Your CV/resume (postgraduate study).
3. Copy of your passport.
4. Reference/recommendation letters/Contacts. Many schools take recommendations by email – they ask you for your recommender(s)’s emails and send them the link to fill in their recommendations. Alternatively, you can send a scanned copy of the recommendation letter on the letter-headed paper of your recommender’s company via email or upload via the student portal depending on your school.
5. A personal statement. This is your opportunity to sell yourself as an excellent fit for the school/course.
6. An English language qualification such as IELTS, SSEC or WAEC C6 or above or TOEFL. Some schools accept a letter from your previous institutions stating that you were fully taught in English. Find out what your school will accept from you.
Note: Many schools will require you to submit the bank statement or the proof of funds that you want to use before issuing your CAS.
Also, have your travel history at hand as many schools will like to know if you have been refused visas previously and why to enable them to gauge your success at getting a visa. Declaring refusals to schools and UKVI doesn’t mean that your visa application will be rejected, it only means that some schools might decline your application due to the risk of your student refusal as a means to retain the integrity of their admission/CAS issuance processes as certain refusals cast negative light on the integrity of their processes.

REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT VISA

Application link: https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/apply

1. Your passport.

2. CAS statement (this includes your CAS number and sponsor details). You don't need to upload this as it is an electronic document that the ECO has access to. Just filling the CAS information on your application is ok.

3. Academic evidence and documents detailed on CAS.

4. TB test result (from IOM only). See booking details here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-nigeria/tuberculosis-testing-in-nigeria#attending-the-clinic
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-nigeria/tuberculosis-testing-in-nigeria#payment

5. Outstanding tuition fees.
This should be evidence in your account/your parents’ accounts/sponsorship letter/ loan letter.

6. Maintenance requirement: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/financial-evidence-for-student-and-child-student-route-applicants
a. £1,334 monthly (for up to 9 months) for within London (this includes schools in the Greater London area and all the London boroughs). This means that you need to show £1,334 * 9 (£12,006) for your maintenance.

Financial evidence

7. Financial evidence: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/financial-evidence-for-student-and-child-student-route-applicants

a. You can use your bank statement or your parents’ bank statement to show your funds (tuition fees + maintenance).
The money must be kept in the account for at least 28 days before application; the end of the 28 days must not be older than 31 days before your application.
Note: Your application date is the date of your online submission, not your biometrics date.
The only family members that can sponsor you (give you their account statement to use) are your parents or legal guardian(s).
If using your parents' account(s), you need your birth certificate which has your parents' name as your parents to prove your relationship to them.
Note: You can only use your partner’s money if your partner is present in the UK or applying at the same time as you.

If using your guardian's statement, you need to include a court document appointing the person as your guardian. This guardian must have been appointed by the court when you were below 18 years.
Note 1: If your funds are held in an account that is not in £, the ECO will convert the funds in your account using the exchange on the day of your online application as calculated on: https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/
Note 2: You cannot use overdrafts, bitcoin savings, stocks and shares, pensions, bank accounts that are not regulated by the financial regulatory body in the country you’re applying from or bank accounts that don’t use electronic record keeping.
Note 3: You can use current accounts, deposit accounts, savings accounts, pension savings, investment accounts.
Note 4: When paying your visa/HIS fees, your bank will not use Oanda rates. Budget for black market rates.
Note 5: Please leave your funds in your account till you get your visa to avoid stories that touch. If it is used to pay your fees, you must have the receipt ready incase the ECO requests for a fresh bank account statement covering longer periods.
Note 6: Prepare for an interview even if the possibility is low so that you are ready for any eventuality.

b. You can also submit a sponsorship letter (see sample here: https://docs.gre.ac.uk/rep/sas/example-sponsorship-letter ) if you're sponsored by
i. Her Majesty’s (UK) Government
ii. The applicant’s home (Nigerian, in this case) government
iii. the British Council
iv. an international organisation eg. UNICEF, UN, WHO etc.
v. an international company (a company that actively operates in 2 or more countries)
vii. a university (eg. The university where you will be studying).
viii. a UK independent school.

c. Loan letter, if you are in receipt of an educational loan. The loan must be in your name. See link for details: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/financial-evidence-for-student-and-child-student-route-applicants
Note: The loan letter must confirm that there are no conditions on release of the loan funds other than a successful application to study.
It must also confirm that the funds will be available to you, or paid directly to the sponsor, before you begin your course.

8. Consent letter: You'll also need a letter from your parent(s) or guardian that states that they consent to you using the funds in the account for which evidence has been submitted. This is only applicable if using their bank statements. See sample here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.westminster.ac.uk/sites/default/public-files/general-documents/Example%2520of%2520parent%2520consent%2520letter.doc&ved=2ahUKEwjVuYnvs9rtAhX7UxUIHR04C3cQFjALegQIBxAB&usg=AOvVaw23ibrOLrlQod4FOobTdsJp

9. ATAS certificate, if your course requires it.

10. Consent letter: Under 18s will also need a consent letter from both parents and/or their guardian consenting to their visa application, their living arrangements in the UK and their travel to the UK. See example here (edit as required): http://documents.manchester.ac.uk/display.aspx?DocID=29499
https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/ssid/immigration/tier-4-application/supporting-documents#consent

Graduate visa (after successfully completing your studies) https://www.gov.uk/graduate-visa
Cost: Visa - £715 + IHS (£624 per year * 2 for Masters programmes and £624 per year * 3 for PhDs) = £1,963 (Masters) and £2,587 (PhDs). This visa can’t be extended, you’ll need to migrate to another visa that allows you to work and live in the UK eg. Skilled worker visa, Innovator visa, Global Talent visa, any family route visa etc.

FOR DEPENDANTS: Your family should ideally be in the UK as your dependant under the Student visa for them to qualify as your dependants under the Graduate visa route. This means that they must apply to join you more than 6 months to the end of your course since IHS isn’t charged and BRPs are not issued for any visa below 6 months. If your dependants apply when you have less than 6 months to the end of your course, it means that they won’t be charged IHS and if they need medical attention, they might need to pay out of pocket. Also, proving their right to work might be difficult with this – anyone who has applied less than 6 months to the end of the main applicant’s visa should please state their experience for others to gain from.
a. Spouses only: Marriage certificate.
b. Spouses and Children: Maintenance evidence: Bank statement showing £845 monthly * 9 months (£7,605) for within London or £680 monthly * 9 months (£6,120) for outside London. This must be in the account for at least 28 days; the end of the 28 days must not be older than 31 days before your application.

For dependant spouses, the money can be in your account or your partner's account.
For dependant children, the money can be in either parent's account.
Note: If applying shortly after the main applicant, be ready to show evidence of the main applicant’s funds (ie. Bank statements showing that he/she still has part of the money that hasn’t been spent on tuition or living expenses, rent/tuition receipts and any other document to prove that the money is not being recycled).

c. Spouses and children: TB test certificate (From IOM only)

d. Your child(ren) only: Child(ren)'s birth certificate showing you as their parent.
Note: If you’re taking care of a family member who’s now like a child to you and you’d like to take this child with you to the UK, you must provide an adoption certificate, court document showing that you have been appointed as the child’s legal guardian or granting you parental responsibility over the child.
These documents must be dated before the child turns 18 (ideally while the child is under age 16).

e. Spouse or parent's Biometric Residence Permit if they are already in the UK. Their vignette /GWF number if they have gotten their vignette but are still in Nigeria or if they are awaiting their application decision.

f. For spouses, you can include pictures of you and your spouse to prove that your marriage is genuine and subsisting or communication evidence (if you have lived apart prior to your application especially in cases where the spouse has travelled to the UK already). You can also use joint accounts, letters from your doctor, joint properties amongst many others to show that your marriage is real.

g. For children only: consent letter signed by both parents or legal guardian. See sample here (edit as required): http://documents.manchester.ac.uk/display.aspx?DocID=29499

https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/ssid/immigration/tier-4-application/supporting-documents#consent

COSTS.
1. Visa fee: £490 . For further info, check on costs and requirements check https://www.gov.uk/student-visa

2. TB test fee: currently N57,800. Always confirm the Naira equivalent as this changes based on the ForEx rate used. Check for booking, cost, and updated information here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-nigeria/tuberculosis-testing-in-nigeria

3. IHS cost: Currently £470 for each year of your course plus £235 for the extra 4-6 months granted in addition to the duration of your course. This is not refundable if your visa is granted but you don’t travel to the UK.
Calculate how much your IHS will cost here: https://www.immigration-health-surcharge.service.gov.uk/checker/type

4. Optional processing service fees. Check here for more info: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visa-regulations-revised-table/2020

a. Priority: £250 (application processed, ideally, within 5 working days).
b. Super priority: £956 (application processed, ideally, within 24 hours).
c. For other value-added services, check
https://pos.tlscontact.com/abv_en/added-value-services
Note: This can sometimes be suspended due to large volumes of applications or certain unforeseen situations.

Note: For single parents who want to travel with their under-18 child(ren) but not with the child(ren)'s other parent, you will need a death certificate, sole custody order or any other legal document that shows that the child(ren)'s other parent isn't in the picture anymore.
Also, having detailed childcare plans while you study helps – contact nurseries/schools around your area to give you an idea of how to weave this into your application.
The onus is on you to prove that your situation is compelling enough for the ECO to grant you and your child(ren) visas without the other parent.

You can use Microfinance banks as long as they are registered with and licenced by CBN.
You should also find out if anyone has used the statements from that bank before because it also proves that the bank can satisfactorily verify financial statements through UKVI established channels. The bank being able to verify the statement to UKVI as required and when due is key.

Ask him for your login details and check yourself for ur biometric date, it will be on ur portal….. please note dates can be changed backwards if the space is empty… sometimes the TLS always release some date they initially withheld ….

But my candid advice collect your login details and see for yourself what’s up don’t depend on agent that’s why you are here bro

Form A Update
Form A is an application form designed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to pay for service transactions (invisible trade). Form A is electronically done and does not require your presence.

It can be accessed via

https://www.tradesystem.gov.ng/

Form A is the cheapest means of payment for international students.
Form A is not really easy and it is always advisable that applicants start on time as it may take about 15 working days or more and the processing time depends on the bank. Some banks may take about 30 days or more depending on the already existing queue.

NB: Form A is not only for new students. Returning students abroad can use it.

FORM A SERVICES

The prevalent services it’s utilised for are:

- School fees

- Medical bills

- Training Courses

- Mortgage and others

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR FORM A

1. Offer letter
2. Degree Certificate
3. Invoice from School
4. School bank details
5. Letter of Authorization to withdraw (may be typed or hand-written containing your signature)
6. Passport Bio page
7. Student's ID card (returning students)
8. Residential Address (returning Students - not quite necessary)

9. BVN
10. Your Gmail must be linked to your BVN

N/B: If you fail to provide any of the above documents, you will be rejected. Again, CBN charges N5,000 per form A transaction.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE

- Visit https://www.tradesystem.gov.ng

- Click on the Form A floating button

- Click on Sign Up

- Input your BVN ( your Gmail will pop up in a cryptic format)

- Log in to your mail and copy the code sent to your mail and input in the text area at tradesystem.gov.ng portal.

- Select your password

- It's advisable to use Chrome in order to save your password for future access

- Click on Form A and follow screen prompt

- Remember to select YES on " available for Forex.

- Make sure you provide input correct information from the school and provide a genuine information.

- Make sure you monitor your progress to know if there's a request from the processing bank.

Stages Involved in Form A

1. Adb_Reviewer: This is a bank officer who assesses your submitted informations and if deemed correct, will recommend for Approval.

2. Adb_Supervisor: This is also a bank officer who Approves the recommended information by the adb_reviewer.

3. Adb_disbursment_reviewer: This is also a bank head office officer who assesses the required recipient's details and the amount required to process your application. If he finds everything satisfactory, then debit is processed.

4. Adb_disbursment_Supervisor : This is the final stage. The bank officer do verify and confirm the debit and term your application successful.

NB: Some banks may leave your application on ADB_DISBURSEMENT_REVIEWER level even after transaction is completed. It's not a problem at all. All you should bother about is your TELEX copy which serves as an Prove of payment.

Again, Form A can be processed from every part of the country but you must be a Nigerian.

Down Points

Form A is not the only source of payment. There's black market whose rate is not friendly but is faster.
Form A is a secured means but it might take time depending on the processing bank.
Again, there are some charges outside CBN and Tuition fees, it's advisable to have extra N15,000 because it was my experience.

Note: Starting your Form A journey on time is an advantage.
For tuition fee around £4,000, you can save upto N900k using Form A.

Hello house, pls my school starts September 26 but I will apply by August 18 because that's when my POF will mature. Any idea if I would still meet up with the program start date? Another question is do I need to upload my employment letter when applying although my school only said we should upload only what is stated in the CAS and it's only my academic documents. Meanwhile I have a 10 year gap after youth service but I have been working. I await your kind response. Thank you.

Justwise / Duches

I know my study gap is not really necessary because it’s just 4 years

But I’ve been doing business for years

Is it possible I register my business a week to my visa application
Thanks

Hi everyone.

Please if I chose self-service for my biometrics, I hope there's no issue with amending my appointment date after I have uploaded my documents?

Initially, I chose the closest available date in late August, but after uploading everything and coming back later at night, I saw a closer date, and I amended it, I'm hoping it's fine.

Thanks.

Form A Update
Form A is an application form designed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to pay for service transactions (invisible trade). Form A is electronically done and does not require your presence.

FORM A A SERVICES

The prevalent services it’s utilised for are:

- School fees

- Medical bills

- Training Courses

- Mortgage and others

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR FORM A

1. Offer letter
2. Degree Certificate
3. Invoice from School
4. School bank details
5. Letter of Authorization to withdraw (may be typed or hand-written containing your signature)
6. Passport Bio page
7. Student's ID card (returning students)
8. Residential Address (returning Students - not quite necessary)

9. BVN
10. Your Gmail must be linked to your BVN

N/B: If you fail to provide any of the above documents, you will be rejected. Again, CBN charges N5,000 per form A transaction.
