These are the Russian submarines which protected the Indian Navy by becoming a shield against America in the 1971 war.
50 years ago in 1971, the US threatened India to stop the 1971 war. Concerned India sent an SOS to the Soviet Union. A story that has almost been erased from the Indian history books. When Pakistan's defeat in the 1971 war seemed easy, Kissinger prompted Nixon to send the US 7th Fleet Task Force, led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, to the Bay of Bengal.
USS Enterprise, 75,000 tons, was the world's largest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in the 1970s with over 70 fighters. A moving monster on the surface of the sea. The Indian Navy's fleet was led by Vikrant, a 20,000-tonne aircraft carrier, carrying 20 light combat aircraft. Officially the USS Enterprise was sent to the Bay of Bengal to protect American citizens in Bangladesh, while unofficially it was to intimidate the Indian Army and prevent the liberation of East Pakistan. India soon got another bad news. Soviet intelligence reported to India that a powerful British naval fleet led by the aircraft carrier HMS Eagle along with the commando carrier HMS Albion, along with several destroyers and other ships were approaching the
The Arabian Sea from the west in Indian waters.
The British and Americans planned a coordinated naval attack to intimidate India: British ships in the Arabian Sea would target India's west coast, while the Americans would attack in Chittagong. The Indian Navy was caught between British and American ships. That was December 1971, and the world's two major democracies were now threatening the world's largest democracy. An SOS from Delhi was sent to Moscow. The Red Navy soon dispatched 16 Soviet naval units and six nuclear submarines from Vladivostok to block the USS Enterprise.
Admiral N Krishnan, the chief of the Eastern Command of the Indian Navy, wrote in his book 'No Way But Surrender' that he feared the Americans would reach Chittagong. He mentioned how he thought
of attacking the Enterprise in a do-or-die trick to slow it down.
On 2 December 1971, a task force of the US 7th Fleet led by the water giant USS Enterprise arrived in the Bay of Bengal. The British fleet was coming into the Arabian Sea. The world held its breath.
But, unknown to the Americans, they were overtaken by submerged Soviet submarines.
As the USS Enterprise headed for East Pakistan, Soviet submarines came to the fore without warning. Soviet submarines now stood between India and American naval forces.
Americans_surprised_surprised_.
The 7th US Fleet Commander told Admiral Gordon: "Sir, we are too late. The Soviets are here!" no choice but to retreat
Both the American and British fleets retreated. Today, most Indians have forgotten this huge naval chess battle between the two superpowers in the Bay of Bengal.
so it is important to remember

Hmmm.... US sending the biggest and most advanced carrier to protect its citizens in Bangladesh is what they told the world.... but had a secret agenda along with their accomplice the UK. Nothing has changed.... same two doing the same .... but yet soo many of us swallow whatever they say.

no my friend the right word to use is "the British fleet fled back to African" the best way to identify a coward is the back of his head as he runs from battle.

that's y is good to have Russians and china for world balance, US, UK, France, Germany hegemony has to be checkmate by Moscow and Beijing otherwise the world power dynamics would be a imperial govt, which soon enough would impose a one world govt where this few hegemones re the leaders, Moscow and China needs to prevent the possibility of such a lofty ambition from seeing the light of d day

Haba grin
Must you said it loud cheesy

Multipolar world is good.
Georgia war kick started MW but Syria war was the turning point of Multipolar world after Russia military was invited by Syria president and Russia military bleeped with USA and allies backed militants.
2 years later Australia military were the first to withdrew after Russia said it will shot down any military aircraft that cross its redline then followed Saudi and UAE that stopped funding those rebels.
Saudi and UAE said the war was lost immediately, they saw Russia military action.

In fact it’s was after Gulf nations apart from Qatar saw what Russia did in Syria, that made Gulf nations increased its cooperation with Russia.
According to uae president, they thought Russia was bluff at first but when they saw Russia was not bluffing then they knew a new major power has risen.

I remembered watching those rebels from CAR complaining that immediately the Russians came in, and trained CAR troops, the CAR troops fighting system changed from the one the French troops trained as government troops are now fighting them like rebels are not human beings grin grin

Baba, we don’t have government.
What we have are useless looters
Look at what Mali did, if only we have government that care, we should invite the Russians to train us very well, I don’t need Russia base and you will see the way BH will run.

This is why it is important to continue to teach history. This is why a multi-polar world is needed to check mate the super powers. To understand this clash, you need to watch it on youtube. The Anglos were shitting their pants when they saw the submarines submerging grin.

This event had the most surrender in history; 93k Pakis surrendered.

This is why i liked the USSR/Russia, they do not just come into your country. You have to ask for help, Syria,India, South Ossetia etc all called for help.

CAR civil war was going worst for CAR government troops against the rebels until the Russians came and same in Syria.
Russia successfully operation in CAR, gave Mali, B.Faso etc opportunity to invite Russia and mind you, main Russia troops are not there and that’s the reason French and allies were crying.
