Yamri is a derogatory term used by northerners on Igbos.

The word is a bastardization of the Igbo words : Ya miri, meaning "give me water" and owes its origins during the trans Saharan Arab slave trade period where Igbos formed the bulk of human commodities traded from the south to the north.

It is more of a mockery term used to describe the Igbo who were constantly harassing his new slave owners transporting him to slave markets in the north for water to drink. The long arduous trek in harsh arid climate was not easy on most Igbo slaves and most perished on the long trek from their slave holders in Igala land to slave markets in places like Kano.

Arab slave dealers refused to buy Igbo stock because they feared they would not survive the harsh Sahara deserts so they were priced on the cheap as a gamble .

So there you have it.

This is a lie! If don't know a thing stop spreading lies.
That word was coin from the civil war when the eastern region surrendered and due to hunger and starvation, ppl demanded for food and water, as they could not communicate in English language but only in igbo to as for water from the aid workers who were taking care of the starved ppl in the ID camps. Vote for Peter Obi and your life will regain its meaning, avoid those trying to make the election into a tribal contest.

There's no market specially built for bigots, we all will suffer for a wrong choice.
And how can Peter Obi reduce the suffering of the Nigerian people? He's just like the other two with nothing different to offer
