The National Bureau of Statistics release the WAEC result statistics few days ago for 2021 data and that was where StatiSense also did the data analysis for the WAEC result Statistics they released few days ago.

However, StatiSense do not give all the true picture of the statistics as intended.

From the Data released from NBS, the SouthWest has the highest number of students that sat for WAEC and also the highest number of students that have 5 credits and above including English & Maths. This is followed by the South South Zone

Form the charts, it can be seen that the SW has more students taking WAEC in private schools than in public schools based on the data. The SW is the only region that had this kind of trend. Other region usually have more public students than private taking WAEC.

What I noticed from the data is that the Public schools have lower pass rate than private schools which is exactly what we have been saying about deteriorating education in the public sector.

Also, in South East & South South region, they have a very high percentage pass rate (89% & 88%) in their public schools and this is somehow commendable coz that high percentage will be difficult to imagine.

Even if it is special centers, at least they tried for pulling it off.

NBS has not yet released the 2022 statistics.

This is by state of residence and not State of origin and the issue with this is that it only gives geographic information about the performance of states while the real information about the people is missing .

I saw this too in the NBS report they released and was dumbfounded how StatiSense failed to present all the necessary metrics in their initial chart.

The SW got the highest number of those students having 5 credits and above and what I think that portray is that more of them will be pushed to the universities.

That will only ensure the Yoruba will continue to have the highest number of graduates and people in those corporate jobs.

Well, real live data also correlate with this because in tertiary education and the corporate world itself, the Yorubas are by far the most represented.
