Putin's objective was far beyond that man, why then did Russia pressed forward into Kyiv during the first month of invasion, Russia attempted to take the entire Ukraine by deploying soldiers to several parts of Ukraine, it was the unexpected resistance from the Ukrainians who became inspired by their president that made Russia to later pulled out of Kyiv and focus in Donbass and other eastern parts of Ukraine.

Russia grossly underestimated Ukraine from the beginning, we saw how hundreds of Russian tanks were destroyed in Kyiv.

Who knows, maybe Putin was going to go forward into Estonia, Latvia and Poland, but the reality is down on him at the moment.

You are right. Anyway, no country can outspend in events of prolonged war. US has both resources and technology at advanced level than any other nation. US is fortunate to in good location- centre of international trade.

Is it the olive branch that the west failed to honour in 2014 by refusing to caution Ukraine. Instead Angela Merkel stated that the 2014 Minisk Agreement olive branch was used to buy time and arm Ukraine to fight Russia. So who is wrong in this case.
