Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has married a new wife, Mariam. This is despite rumors that his marriage to Queen Silenkunola Naomi was about to break up.

On September 6, the monarch's new queen, oil and gas expert Mariam Anako-Ogunwusi, was welcomed to his palace on Tuesday night.

Recall that in December 2021, Queen Naomi declared her divorce from her husband, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, also known as the Ooni of Ife.


She has tried her hardest to endure and make their marriage work, she says, adding that she has smiled through the pain but is now done.

She also instructed her kinsmen not to connect her with the Ooni or Ife, nor to refer to her as the Queen of Ile-Ife. However, the palace insisted that the royal couple is still married.

In a fresh development, Olori, 29, came to Instagram on Thursday, August 29, to discuss how tough it is for women to leave an abusive marriage.

Only nine months after the departure of Olori Silekunola Naomi from the palace, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, introduced his new wife on Tuesday night.



This was revealed in a video published by Moses Olafare, the Ooni of Ife's Director of Media and Publicity.



In a viral video, the new bride was seen with Ife Chiefs, who were taking her into the palace.
