It's like people don't get it. Most people are not migrating cos of higher pay. But for a sane standard of living. They aren't asking too much for a good road, electricity, security and ran enabling business and work environment. You seems to steal everything and everyone is just looking helplessly. The medical professionals are leaving in droves, the academia are also leaving in their thousands. The business community are not left out. Address the real issues. This country has more than enough to go round and live peacefully without any brohaha from anywhere. None challancy and greed has killed our leaders. If you're steeling the money and investing it here nobody will say anything, at least there will be jobs to go around foe people. I visited a general hospital for the first time recent and only 3 doctors were attending to over 500 people, why? If care is not taken those that went abroad will return to constitute nuisance and terrorize us one day either by deliberate effort of omitted effort. The sleep with their two eyes close whee they are, they have their time to themselves, they are able to see their families and train them, not here . The only ones that will choose not to go are the ones that age is not on their side or have resigned to their fates. If you're into business it is worse. The moment you spend your profit you're int o trouble because you have successfully spent your next capital. Production cost will just jump before you start the next cycle. The banks are not helping matters . We are growing food that is expensive and out of the rich of the ordinary people. Rice, rice has been detroned from the list of staple foods. Akamu and garri has taken over. People are only migrating for better life. You can't hold them down and yet you cannot guarantee them safety and a good quality of life. Nbannu 1 Like |

You just talk just hear you talk . What did you do to ameliorate their sufferings when they are here in Nigeria? They will be up and beat after fews months or year , by the way who told you that they are being underpaid? |

Day169:What you said is true. Who will attend to the rest of us here. Afterall we also require medical care. Obviously the younger 3 rate ones that refuse to leave. Because I don't think naija has reached the stage where highly skilled professionals will say they will chose patriotism over a better standard of living. In this case, older doctors already established and the younger ones that possibly feel they cannot pass the foreign exams will remain. Bottomline, poor health standard. 1 Like |

This is the most shameless, useless and irresponsible comment from government quarters. Has she tried to do the exchange rate of the salary they get over there with what they are paid in Nigeria? |

Who made up this story? Because I don't think the Nigerian govt would have said this. Don't get me wrong; I know the Nigerian govt is stvpid, but I don't think they are this level of stvpid to criticise doctors' payment knowing what is applicable in Nigeria. |
