Important Issues About Nigeria And Nigerians by Ipeche: 5:57am On Sep 11, 2022
1. Between Obi, Atiku and Tinubu, who will make a better President? Nigeria’s inflation is sent to increase to over 20%, Naira exchange rate to the Dollar is over 700, employment is at an all-time high – over 33%, Nigeria is poverty capital of the world yet there are politicians still buying properties abroad when some Nigerian cannot one decent meal in a day. Who can fix Nigeria’s problems post May 29, 2023?

2. The CEOs of oil & gas companies cannot brag that they are richer than a state in Nigeria. It is highly unlikely that the CEO of Mobile Nigeria for instance will earn up to NGN240 million per annum, i.e. NGN20 million per month and NGN2.4 billion in 10 years. How can an individual who has earned NGN4.8 billion in 20 years for example be richer than a state?

3. It is on record that US dollars were spent to procure Presidential Primary Tickets for Tinubu and Atiku. Since Atiku left office in 2007, does he own a business that can fetch him US dollars to bribe delegates? Bribing of delates has happened at least twice for Atiku - 2018 in Port Harcourt and 2022 in Abuja, where did he get the dollars from?

4. If Ogun and Amadioha were to strive people that lie, can any Nigeria in good conscience raise his/her hand in defence of Atiku and Tinubu that they did not steal public funds while in office?

5. Peter Obi is not a Saint, but I think he is a lesser of two evil amongst the other two. Character and Competence is what we need now in leadership recruitment in Nigeria.

6. Please is there anyone that thinks Lagos would have been what it is today without oil & gas money from the Niger Delta? Let's break it down, when oil prices are down, the Non-Performing Loans of Banks skyrocket. What this means is that oil earnings is synonymous to Nigeria's economic prosperity.

7. If oil revenue stops today no state in Nigeria will survive economically. When President Obasanjo stopped Local Government allocation to Lagos, the state survived it because of oil money. All companies headquartered in Lagos continued to pay PAYE and VAT. Ninety percent (90%) of companies in Nigeria will not survive without Niger Delta oil money.

8. The Federal Capital Territory of a nation is a “no man’s land”, Lagos state has this status till today.

9. If Tinubu is good at identifying talents, why did he get it wrong with Buhari? Tinubu did not support Ambode in 2019, let’s assume he also made a mistake with Amode. That’s “two-for-two”. Tinubu has made a mistake with two leaders he selected out of four (4), how are we sure he’s not making a mistake with himself? Fifty percent (50%) error margin is significant for Nigerians to gamble with.

10. People were attacking Paul Okoye online because he Twitted that – “Abeg I wan ask one question ohh ? If you know you have plans to fix Nigeria … abeg how come you no teach buhari”. Some people argued that perhaps Buhari did not take Tinubu’s advice. Let’s assume this happened in 2015, why did Tinubu support Buhari again in 2019?

11. My first time in Lagos was in 2004, trust me, Ikeja has not recorded up to 10% change in the last 15 years. Lagos is the most indebted states in Nigeria. What has Lagos done with the loans and its internally generated IGR? Who does not know that politicians steal our common wealth? Modern slavery is when you support your oppressor or someone stealing from you.

12. Would the north ever support a Southern Christian succeeding another Southern Christian at the presidential level?

13. APC asked Nigerians to vote out PDP in 2015 but today they are telling us that APC is different from APC.

14. All those supporting Atiku and Tinubu, have something to benefit directed when either of them gets elected. Those of us that do not have anyone in high places, shine your eyes at least for the sake of your children and posterity.

15. Coming from the North, that region has benefited more from Southern presidents. In Buhari’s government, only his friends and cronies are benefiting from his government. Ninety-eight (98%) of Northerners have not benefitted anything good from Buhari’s government. There’s no guarantee in leadership with dishonest and thieving tendencies. Let’s try something new and fresh.

16. Most Northern minorities have been and are being marginalized. Only a section of the North benefit from Northern presidency. How many minorities are in Buhari’s government?

17. If we get it wrong in 2023, that’s the end for Nigeria. We now have a difficulty choice to make. Atiku and Tinubu have nothing new to offer. If we elect the wrong leaders we will all suffer together.

18. All the people supporting colonialization must have some complex. How can a woman praise her rapist because he paid her as a form of restitution when he’s caught? Those attacking Uju Anya must have issues. The woman is still grieving, please allow her to grieve the best way she can.

19. We are religious, we can kill for religion but, we are the most morally bankrupt in the world. We must reduce correction to the barest minimum and must entrench equity and justice in all we do to make Nigeria a prosperous country.

20. I will plead to Nigerians to vote on election day and vote wisely too. We can make Nigeria a pride of Africa and a pride of the world. I also want to be respected internationally. We deserve better.
