Pictures show some members of Shura, the advisory council of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s political movement, sharing part of N100m allegedly given by the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, to mobilise party supporters during his visit to Kano.

Insiders told DAILY NIGERIAN that the presidential candidate showered N130million to Kano PDP leaders, with Mr Shekarau getting the lion share of N100m and Aminu Wali camp getting N30m.

Other sources however said the pictures were taken during the distribution of N60m donation given by Mr Atiku to traders of Kantin Kwari and Beirut Road affected by flood and building collapse.

“While it is factual that the former governor got N100m to mobilise supporters during the presidential candidate’s visit, the viral pictures are taken during the distribution of N60m given to traders of Kantin Kwari and Beirut Road,” the source clarified.

In late August, Mr Atiku visited Kano to receive Mr Shekarau who defected from Rabiu Kwankwaso’s New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP to PDP.
