Was the gear system tampered with somehow or the button for a particular function got missing?

I and others would really like to know.

Not button but small cover that covered the hole, maybe it's got broken as a result of constant opening

thats a hole for emergency transmission lever shift, sometimes u start ur car and u try to shift to drive (d) from park (p) but the stick won't move, so all u need to do is open that small hole and press the small switch u see inside, it will allow the stick to shift to drive (d) for emergency purposes so u can take the car to ur mechanic for repair, so the cover is just for aesthetic the main function is the switch inside.

That's a nuclear warhead switch to unleash nuclear vawulence. You use the gear stick to guide the warhead where you want. Yours has been removed.

So when they say u can't push an auto car, tell them na lie. Even if the engine doesn't start, u can move the gear to neutral after pressing that button and then push the car to a safety location.
