One big lie in the media or social media is that Nigeria has always been ruled by very old people. That is a lie.

Below are the list of Nigeria President/Head of state from 1960 till date and their age when they became Head of state

1. Nnamdi Azikiwe 56 years in 1960 when he was president

2. Tafawa Balewa 48 years in 1960 as Prime minister

3. Agunyi Ironsi 42 years in 1966 as head of state

4. Gowon 32 years as Head of state in 1966

5. Murtala Muhammed 37 years in 1975 as head of state

6. Obasanjo 39 years old in 1976 as head of state

7. Shagari 54 years as a Democratically elected president in 1979

8. Buhari 41 years as head of state

9. Babangida 44 years as head of state

10. Abiola President elect 56 years in 1993

11. Shonekan 57 years in 1993 as interim govt head

12. Abacha 50 years in 1993 as head of state

13 . Abdusalem 56 in 1998 as head of state

14. Obasanjo 62 in 1999 as President

15. Yar Adua 56 years in 2007 as President

16. Jonathan 53 years in 2010 as President

17. Buhari 73 years old in 2015 as president

You lied. Their objective was to put Obafemi Awolowo in power because he was simply the best in terms of vision and his manifesto was legendary.

The failure of that coup was neither a gain nor a loss to Nigeria.
