Nafiu, a soldier attached to the Muhamadu Buhari cantonment in Tungan Maje in the FCT has been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services for allegedly hiring out and selling guns to kidnappers.

He was arrested last week around Dankogi Park in Zuba in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in the area.

Reports say the soldier hired a gun to the kidnappers for 300,000 in one of the operations and in another instance, he recieved 200,000 for one gun.

Unfortunately for the soldier, the kidnappers were arrested and they mentioned him as their gunrunner.

They contacted him for another deal to supply them with AK 47 rifles to buy at three million naira and he fell for it. They went to the agreed site in Zuba and took position.

He arrived in his car to present the arm and the security men swoop on him. An AK 47 rifle as well as a fully loaded magazine with 30 rounds of ammunition was found in his car.

He doesn't look scared .. I guess he knew what he signed up for.

Men it's like APC are waking up this period. They free the train victims, now they have started arresting gunrunners also we haven't heard any new release from the APC wing of bokoharam, not even the local government chapter of banditry... What is going on? Oh ok I see .... Election time is here !!!!

That is not the issue, a criminal will always commit crime irrespective of how much is being paid as salary. He has a criminal mindset, he is not the only one being paid N50k salary and nobody forces him to become army if he knows salary is too small for him. Even if you pay him N1000000 million on monthly basis, if he is not decipline or morally sound, he will still fall for N300k crime.

We have many people and youths with more family responsibilities than him who get about N30, 000 monthly and keep managing themselves without hiding under crime and we have lots of billionaire/millionaires who still indulge into crime, drug and kidnapping despite their present rich statuses. It is only the fear of God or being morally sound that can make one to be contented. Never hide under poverty to defend criminals; they are not the worst of the poorest in life, they are just greedy. He should face his music
