A lecturer at the Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State, identified as Fred Ayokhai, has been accused of brutalising a 20-year-old student of the university.

Ayokhai was pictured in viral social media videos with his children assaulting and stripping a student identified as Blessing Mathias naked. Ayokhai is said to lecture at the department of History and International Relations.

Reports say that Blessing had beaten the lecturer’s daughter, Emmanuella, for attempting to snatch her boyfriend, identified as IG.

Trouble started when Blessing uncovered the fact that Emmanuella saved her boyfriend’s number on her phone, and refused to delete it after she was asked. Afterward, Blessing beat up Emmanuella with her group of friends. She was pictured manhandling Emmanuella and asking her to delete the number.

The incident prompted Emmanuella to retaliate in the company of her father, Fred Ekpe Ayokhai, and his brother, Praise Shola, and others.

Ayokhai chopped off Blessing’s clothes with scissors after they drove her to an unknown location as captured in a viral video.

Reacting to the development, the Nasarawa State Police Command in a tweet said, “Sequel to the viral tweet of assault on a female teenager in Lafia, the Command swiftly commenced an investigation into the case.

“It is gratifying to state that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the case while the vehicle used in conveying the victim to an undisclosed location where she was assaulted has been recovered. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects still at large”.
