CBN is not in charge of economic policy.

Monetary policy, yes, but only as a reaction to what Buhari and his finance and planning folk do....and what the oyel price says.

Plus, we don't change our currency that frequently. The last change we had was in 2013, and even then for the N100 note.

Stash nor starch.

And nobody does it for Naira. The Naira takes too much space and is of too little value for people to keep in their house. 1 billion naira in 1000 naira notes weighs 2,000 Kg. Completely stupid to "stash" Naira notes when the same amount in 100 USD notes will weigh 15kg or in 500 euro notes, 3kg.

Redesigns of paper currency is done on a regular basis to avoid counterfeiting.

Breaking News: CBN concludes plans to change the design and colours of N200, N500, and N1,000 naira notes. These would now have the portraits of Sultan of Sokoto, Tinubu, and Mohammadu Buhari.

this is exactly the madness of this tinubu party called APC, they always spend billions creating stupid problems for the nation. they will award the contract for this and most likely another huge cost of the problem. lets wait and hear how much they will say they spent on redesigning the naira

They should focus on ridding the populace of torn and moldy hundred naira notes. Nowadays I sanitize my hands after handling the currency.

Emefele why didn't you redesign the one hundred naira note that this administration has failed to print new note ever since her administration.

It seems the claim that it's intentional the PMB has refused to reprint it simply because it doesn't feature Islamic logo.

However, I am not a religious fantastic and I am not an ethnic extremist.

But truth is to be told in most cases.

Good security move.

The CBN should ensure that the exchange of old notes for new ones is done through bank accounts.

EFCC must be up and doing in this period.
