Conspiracy Theory: Why Kwankwaso Must Never Stepdown For Tinubu Or Atiku Matters Arising By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

According to one conspiracy theory, in recent days, the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has put renewed pressure on the NNPP presidential candidate, Musa Kwankwaso, to either step down for him or withdraw from the campaign.

Rumour has it that he doesn't even care if Kwankwaso quits the NNPP and withdraws from the presidential race to support Tinubu.

Atiku, who has a long history of failure as a presidential contender, is desperately trying to outplay the ethnic cards in order to win the presidential elections.

Equation number one which is a very smart move would see Atiku's chances boosted if Kwankwaso joins him. Equally smart is equation number two, get the NNPP presidential candidate to withdraw totally from the presidential race or set a trap by luring him to either endorse Peter Obi or Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

This manner, the election would be a straight fight between Atiku, the sole significant contender who is a Muslim from the north, and Tinubu and Obi who are both from the south.

Atiku's ethnic card is the only logical way he can win; let the North vote for their son, then the South choose from two of their sons. So, according to the numb notion, the North will travel in one direction while the South will go in two, so add one plus one and Atiku would win by a simple majority.

This is also similar to the card Peter Obi intends to play, which is to have two Muslim candidates competing for the office against one Christian candidate, allowing the Muslims to go their own way and the Christians to go their own way, sadly enough, that is the only way Peter Obi can ever win.

It is truly terrible that politicians can compromise simply to win elections falsely.

I was tempted to talk more about this conspiracy theory and its political consequences, but doing so would compromise my support for Tinubu, who I feel has the power to turn around the fortunes of this nation in the midst of the current global economic crisis.

Being the oldest presidential contender gives Atiku an elder-like status; therefore, he should stop acting desperate and focus on becoming known at least for certain specific attributes. He should act like an elder and wait for things to develop naturally.

My advise for Kwankwaso is this, you have followers, so inspire them to support you. Retiring at this point would be a bad idea; your admiration for Tinubu is acknowledged, and you have always put up a strong fight. Now is the moment to gauge your popularity by going to the polls.

Whatever ethnic politics Atiku and Obi have pushed do not hold water because Tinubu is on the ballot; he is a tremendous multi-talented strategist who would beat them at their own game; do not fret, Tinubu is coming.
