However, Nigeria is the third largest producer of ginger in the world. Nigeria’s ginger is the best in the world for its aroma, pungency and high oil content forms distinctive features.

The Ginger worth $million is always exported from Nigeria every year in all three forms. Ginger could be exported;
I. fresh,
ii. split or
iii. powdered.

These three forms command different prices both locally and internationally. The powdered ginger commands the highest price followed by dried split and fresh.
However, the greatest demand for Ginger is dried split ginger, but it all depends on what the buyer needs

There are three models in the ginger value campaign, namely;

i)Farm Gate price: The Farm Gate price is where farmers sell straight from their farm or farm market and they don’t understand weight measurement hence their price is per bag as against per ton.

ii) Aggregator price: The Aggregator buys standards arm gates, they established their prices after processing and cleaning the products they bought at the farm gates prices. The aggregators process the products into international and export standards for exporting, they fix their prices with consideration to what the international price is.

iii) International price: The international price is one of the main factors that determine the farm gate price and also the Aggregator price. Howe, ver this price is subject to the value we put in.
