The people of the South East have been told not to blame anyone if the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi fail to win the poll sinply because they fail to accord him the deserved support.

Spokesman of the Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who stated this yesterday, dismissed any suggestion that the north has adopted a candidate for the presidential poll slated for February, 2023.

This is as he challenged the elite not to sit and watch politicians control the country as they like but to stand up and give direction.

“We got our fingers burnt in 2015 and that is why we are being careful this time. We are saying that the best candidate should be allowed to win the election.”

According to him, “all the elites in Nigeria are in hostages and captives of politicians but we must remove ourselves from that bondage. So, we will reach out to elite from the other regions and together we will welcome any presidential candidate who says he has solution to Nigeria’s problems. We worry about the South East. We don’t know whether they are in support of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party or not. The nation can see what is happening now and if the South East fails to line up behind Obi, they should not blame anybody.

“If the Igbo believe it is time for them, they should support Obi, reach out to other Nigerians and tell them they are supporting Obi not because he is an Igbo man but because he is the best. We will give our support to the best man who can heal the wounds in the land because actually, everybody in Nigeria is marginalised right now,” he said.

He urged the South-Easterners to ensure that all politicians are allowed to campaign freely in that zone. He also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that the environment is safe and secure for everybody to campaign.

“Nigeria has a future but we must work very hard to secure it. Let the best candidate win and let us accept whoever that wins so that we can begin the process of rebuilding Nigeria.

However, responding to Baba-Ahmed comment that the South East should try to lobby and convince people from the other zone to support them produce the country’s president, leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, said the case for the South East is not about begging.

“Some southerners must have been brainwashed to believe that only the north can make anybody president of Nigeria but I don’t believe that. The South West has produced the president, the South-South has produced and the north is completing eight years by next year. So, it must come back to the south and when that happens, justice, equity and fairness demand that it should go to the South East Igbo. So, to live together must be on agreeable terms. You can’t deny a prodigal son his right because he is prodigal.

The Yoruba don’t believe in dishonesty, that is why I am supporting Peter Obi. How can we be together when a significant unit is being cheated?”

Simon Reef Musa, who represented the president of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Dr. Pogu Bitrus, equally stated that for justice, equity and fairness, the MBF is queuing behind the candidate of LP, Obi.

“We believe in justice and equity. We believe that it is fair for power to shift to the south after eight years in the north. So, many Nigerians believe in Obi. I am happy it is not the Igbo that are projecting him but the whole Nigerians. Democracy has been commercialised and our challenge is to wrest power from them,” he said.

Deep hatred and needles arrogance will not allow the igbos to reach out to other regions of the country hence robb the country hope of getting it right politically this time around.

If they continue with their foolhardiness, Tinubu won't need to rig 2023 election to become the president.

This part is for Thiefnubuu and his senseless urchins. They believe only Northerners can make emilokan become president. That's why they worship Foolanis like MuhamMad and allah.

These people think we are still in the era where corrupt politicians win election for you.

NEF relax and watch what will happen post 2023 after PO wins. All these corrupt politicians will be put in there rightful place.

I am not voting Obi not because he is an Igbo man

I am voting Obi because he is the most qualified to lead our country from perpetual decay and quagmire

Obi has the popular votes nationwide not because he is from the southeast. But because they saw the zeal and the capacity to project the country to greatness.

We should not get it twisted!

Everyone in South East cannot support Peter Obi, besides you supported Obasanjo even when the South west refused to support him. So throw your support to the man with integrity, competence & Character Peter Obi & stop giving unnecessary excuses.
The South East since independence have been supporting other regions for President without looking for faults here & there.

Everyone is entitled to their entitlement!

Obi knows that he cannot be loved by everyone!

Peter Obi has the support of reasonable Nigerians

Making him a tribal candidate as Op is indirectly trying to proclaim is dead on arrival!

I keep telling Tinubu BATstards to wait for the shocker which will be the endorsement of Obi by the Northern Elders Forum by December or January.

As for Soludo, his political career is over except he relocates to Ogbomoso to elected Local Government chairman there or maybe the governor of Osun.

The daft Professor will forever regret the day he took a pen against Obi.

The South East, South South even South West are doing everything possible to support Obi, I don't want to hear they did not reach out to other parts of the country.
They don't know how to play politics rather Nigerians are the ones who don't know how to play politics.
Let it be on record.
Nobody has to worship everybody before he/she does a reasonable gesture. Take the right and best decision for the interest of all.

Giving Obi a chance is what a good father will do for his sons. Is reasonable. That your family will see u as a good father.

Nigerians we can do it.

Giving Obi a chance in 2023 would not be largesse to the bespectacled ascetic what is at stake transcends one man he is just a catalyst for the new Nigeria we desire. It is more about the things his emergence would represent: that the people come first, that democracy must indeed be of the people, by the people and for the people.

That anyone can emerge as president no matter what part of the country they come from or how they worship, as long as they are best suited for the job; that people with the sheer power to vote can sack the stale politicians with their shopworn ideas and toxicity.

Nigeria at this time needs a visionary, not an emperor. We must wrest ourselves from the manacles of those who have held us bound and have become entitled to our commonwealth. We must shun prejudices as we forge ahead to become a prosperous nation. We must make this Obi experiment now and turn the tide against the political elite because fortune only favours the brave. It is in our hands.

Please make sure in whatever you do, Always leave that name Tinubu(APC) out of your campaign!
Concentrate all the energy you use to demarket Tinubu into Campaigning and making Peter Obi a household Name.
This is because Nigerians have been program to believe in reverse-psychology.
Tell them, "Do not urinate here!" and they will find that spot most attractive to ease themselves!
Ask them not to vote Tinubu, and your are inadvertently making him more popular -
"Nigerians always vote the most popular, not the best Candidate!"
Let your motto be, "Help is coming!"
