A 27-year-old housewife, Odunayo Olumale has stabbed her husband, Olamilekan Salahudeen to death for making sexual advances to her.

The incident happened three months after the couple reconciled and reunited following their separation.

Speaking in Ibadan while parading the suspect at the Oyo Police Command headquarter, Eleyele, Ibadan, police spokesman, Adewale Osifeso said preliminary investigation showed that the deceased and his wife returned to their house at Oko-Oba area of Oyo town on the day of the incident after their three-month separation.

Osifeso said: “On 17/11/2022 about 0350hrs, one Ismaila Tijani reported at Dubar Divisional Police headqauters that about 0223hrs of 16/11/2022, that his son named Olamilekan Salahudeen age 35 was stabbed to death with a knife by his wife Odunayo.”

“The deceased made a move to have sexual intercourse with his wife but rejected, this further led to the struggle where the deceased collected and smashed his wife’s phone and in retaliation, the deceased was stabbed on the chest, leading to his death”

Osifeso said the suspect has since confessed to the crime and her unfortunate role in the incident, adding that she would be charged to court upon completion of the investigations.

The suspect declined comment when asked by journalists to talk about the incident.

Other 25 suspects paraded by the Command include suspected hoodlums who specialised in burggling and looting of warehouses, suspected armed robbers, suspected kidnapping and armed robbery among others

Do you know what is self defense?

If you do you won't type that.

Anywhere in the article was stated that rape was involved?

I guess when it's time for cross examination you will stand in for her and say spousal rape?

From the write up the reason for her stepping out to get a knife can be deducted from her phone been smashed on the floor for not cooperating with her husband's desire to have sex with her.

That can not be reffered to as self defense, if you bring it from an angle of provocation it may have some little ingredients but may not stand the test of time. Reason been the timeline involved in obtaining a deadly weapon for a minor case which wasn't any threat to her life. There may also have been series of past events that may also portray her as a violent person which may then negate her position for provocation.

She deserves the death sentence to set more precedence for people who want to only exude acts that are antithetical to the development of the society.

Keep out of crime, it doesn't pay. The only payment may be life sentence or death penalty.

The deceased married a hoe. The bare minimum a wife can do is open her legs for her husband. Not like she hasn't opened that stank box for some random men before.
