When will Nigeria move away from petrodollar obsession? Other countries are investing heavily in other revenue sources.

Meanwhile, Buhari promised us diversification while he still invests heavily in prospecting crude oil in the north. It makes you wonder if he know the meaning of that word.
The oil in the north storyline is for the purpose of ambesty. They need to be able to create a similar bundle of excuse as ND had just before amnesty. They need to be able to say they have oil and they are poor & underdeveloped. That their resources are being used to run the country.

It didn't grow by production, what happened was that some leakages were identified and blocked.
Tompolo finally got the contract. Wisdom is in deed profitable and patient is a virtue. Who still remember when the government was looking for this guy? The guy listen to advice, understood the man in charge, shield his swords and disappear from the public eyes. Secretly he approached the authorities like the prodigal son and asked for forgiveness where he was perceived to had went wrong and promised to be a good son of the family and from his hiding place he proved his worthy of trust and today he is a contractor to the same government that was looking for him. Hmmm Mọ̀jà, mọ̀sá, lakínkanjú fi ńtọ́jọ́
True.

It was not increased production.

They have finally disconnected a few of their thieving pipes.

More money to steal.

Every country that has large deposits of crude oil is considered very rich. But, why is it that Nigeria is so RICH but Nigerians are so poor?

It's because the people managing our oil wealth are mostly thieves and bad managers. How can we change this ugly situation for our good?

Let us be real and honest until the day poor people come together and understand that the funds generated must impact everyone aka must be accounted for to the last kobo, the poor will keep suffering from their lack of knowledge. The rich protect the rich, they have that love that religion and ethnicity can't penetrate. While the poor always thing protecting the rich will gain their favor of the rich. Instead of coming together to stand for trust and fight for each other inferiority complex set in.

The Higher the production the higher the pump price the higher the level of scarcity.

I hope you know under buhari the non oil gdp increased exponentially? The problem is oil is still the main forex generator for Nigeria, it will take a while for non oil exports to get to that level, strategic governance takes time, its not like instant coffee.
