Tribute to Nigerian femcees

These are songs by some of the biggest Nigerian female rappers. You can add more songs to the list.

naptu2:
Wow! I have actually found one of her songs! I thought that would be impossible!

naptu2:

Damn! I actually remember this exact song! It was on NTA2 Channel 5!

naptu2:

Do you know this person? Do you know who this is? Do you remember this person?

Sometime between 1993 and 1995 she, J.T. Tom West and some other people did a jingle for NTA2 Channel 5. The station used that jingle from the mid-1990s till the early 2000s.

They later released a single sometime around 1995 and then she released her own solo project sometime around 1998.

She's probably the first Nigerian female rapper ever.

(I've been trying to remember her name for the past 2 days and then it suddenly popped into my head. I wasn't even sure that I was correct, but I consulted Google and it said that I was correct).

I was looking for a very famous old video of Fela addressing people on the streets of Lagos, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Guess what I found instead?

I have been searching for this song for a long time and I resumed searching for it earlier this year but I had no luck.

She actually personally got permission from Fela in order to do this song and this was her very first hit.

You can (of course) hear the bass and horns of Fela's "Look and Laugh" on the track. There's a part of the song in which she complained that the exchange rate was 120 naira to a pound.

Weird MC - Allen Avenue (1996).

Queen Change! Where did she disappear to? cheesy

I remember all these songs, and am shocked that some of them are older than 20 years. When did time fly so fast?? You look away briefly from the clock, and when you look back again, decades have passed. cry
