Slim but possible... If the brush picks up blood from a cut from a HIV person and the blood didn't clot before using on another person's open cut as well, then transmission happens. Like I said, it's slim chance. The major route of HIV in Nigeria is sex. A lot of people are having unsafe sex these days. You don't know if someone has an injury on his hair. For example. He has a cut while shaving. There's actually no way most barber can sterilize their brush or they don't even do it. Perhaps HIV virus cannot survive outside that long. It'll die off. But imagine if an effected person made use of the brush and the Barber applied same on you when you're making a shaved on his shop. Really? Why are you always told not to share needles and blades with people around you if nobidy had been infected through that means in the past? Are these not open objects, alresdy exposed to the air? In Medicine, no guessing. You've got to be objective. You leave no rooms for guesswork. A barber using his brush to brush the treated hair or cheek with burst pimples or hair bump poses a great risk to the next customer as the hairbrush could pack some bloodstains in the process, hidden in-between brush strands.

If you kiss an hiv patient with bleeding tooth gum, you could contact it if you have mouth sore or sore throat in case you swallow his or her blood-stained saliva
