I've recently been interested in Nigerian literature, growing up outside the country. . . so I would like to know, which books by Nigerian authors are your favorites? Any recommendations? A few I have read are:
The Concubine by Elechi Amadi (really liked his work)
The Great Ponds by Elechi Amadi
The Slave by Elechi Amadi

I do not come to you by chance by Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani. (this is my favourite!)

Efuru by Flora Nwapa

Purple hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie* another one of my favourites. (have'nt read her other book :half of a yellow sun, but heard its pretty good)

The thing around your neck by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

The joys of motherhood by Buchi Emecheta (she's also really good, anything by her is a good read, read just about all her books)

Things Fall apart by Chinua Achebe (the all time literature favourite, If you have'nt read it yet its pretty good, )

I like the Bride Price by Buchi Emechate.

My two books are also close to my heart.

i'd have to reread most of them because it's been a while.
