If a candidate for an executive position dies, their running mate becomes the head of the ticket. They simply step up and appoint their own running mate.

Was he taking his medications regularly? Did he opt for cheaper drugs before the illness relapsed? Don't rule out BP because there are so many fake BP and anti diabetes drugs around. RIP and my condolences to the family.

But on a serious note, how did PDP settle with such a old man.
If the man is really dead, does it mean Abia State is to be librated from Tyranny.
there is a provision for this in the new electoral law

That's exactly my point. If he had already been declared winner before the death, guys deputy would have benefited by become governor-elect automatically. It's a joint ticket.

Yahaya Bello should tell you the idea

ufuosman:
D deputy will be d governorship candidate

A bye-election will be conducted within 14 days involving persons who participated in the initial primary. His Deputy didn't and therefore has no stake in it.

It's dicey.
Remember that in Bello's case, they had already conducted the election. In this one, them never do election

The deputy becomes the candidate and he would pick a new deputy.
According to the new electoral law, they can’t do another primaries as it’s too close to elections.

Other fellows here can correct me if I’m wrong
