Nigerians with PHd in Criminality, pls if you want to go to prison for vacation... kindly commite your crime In Nigeria and let the Authority give you a space in the federal prison... don't go out and be spoiling our Image allover the world...🙄

You're spoiling Nigeria image more than they are. Here's why: when people all over the world read that some Nigerians in Ethiopia jail are pleading with their Nigeria government to intervene with Ethiopia governments to be repatriated to Nigeria to serve thire full term, people automatically think that Ethiopia prisons most be really deplorable, then they go on to wonder if Ethiopia's justice system can be trusted to prosecute the right accused individuals justly throughout the system or if the Nigerians have been wrongly imprisoned. They may then imagine that Ethiopia is poor and these Nigerians are bound to be suffering human abuse and extreme degradation in overcrowded, purgatory-like conditions and so on.

The above is how majority of people around the world think when they read that people in third world prisons are crying out for one type of help or another. But you had to go label Nigerians, quote: "Nigerians with PHd in Criminality".

It could even be argued that you are evil, Selfish or both. This because you're endangering innocent Nigerians by stereotyping Nigerians. Evil- if you're not Nigerian; selfish, if you're Nigerian.

I understand what you trying to say...

I can tell you out of 100 Nigerians serving in a prison abroad... 4% are innocent and they definitely needs help from naija gov...

But let us be honest, what about the guilty 96% serving dia terms...
Hav you ask why when they talk about Crime or fraud around the world... all nations citizens point at Nigerians... that's because the records are overwhelming...

You are a Nairaland member
Do you know how many times they post Nigerians arrested in Indian for drug related crime in a week?

Why not ghana, why not Senegal... I'm not saying they are Saint... but Our own no too much?...

In generally... some Nigerians have choosing to focus on fraud, drug and crime...

What I should have said is that gov should visit the country and confirm what's going on... if we hav innocent Nigerians in d prison... den dia should be an arrangement... but if we have guilty Nigerians who hav decided to damage other people country... den dey should face d consequences... all criminal actually know the result of dia action if dey were caught....

May God bless Nigeria

All these illiterates flooding Nairaland.

The worth of a currency is not been determined by exchange rate like you illiterates think.

There are three economic indices used to determine the worth of a currency

(1) PPP(purchasing power/price parity)

(2) Stability

(3) balance of trade.

Time may not permit me to elaborate on all of the three indices ,but let me take the first one

PPP is defined as Purchasing power parities (PPPs) are the rates of currency conversion that try to equalise the purchasing power of different currencies, by eliminating the differences in price levels between countries.

In lay man terms, what this means is this, to build a 4 bedroom duplex in lekki area of Lagos may cost you 150m for instance, that is about $200k

Now to own that same kind of house in USA in a commiserate environment like that of lekki over there, you will need over$500k-$1m .

Now,to make that 150m naira in Nigeria here is far easier than making $500k to a million dollars in US. Hope you get it now

That is why ,those who earn 500k naira in Nigeria will live same quality of life that someone who earns $4-5k abroad.

The purchasing power parity there is what defines the quality of life that each country lives.

Nigeria naira maybe worthless like most of you think, but making it is very easy compared to those other currencies in other countries.

In Nigeria here, money plenty oo,you can do small thing and earn 5k,10k,20k naira easily than earning 10cedis in Ghana.

The ease of making the money is what matters not exchange rate.

Hope you get it now

Effects of bad leadership. If you come from a bad home, you are likely to be a bad person anywhere you go. Nigeria is bad and constantly producing bad people.

this is pure fallacy. And attempt to put blame on leadership for the crimes people commit by their own choice.

You commit crimes In Nigeria and blame the hardship of the country ,you found your way out of the country to a country you claim have better leadership, still continue commiting crime and still put the blame on the leadership of the country they ran away from. Does that sound sensible to you?

A woman marries ,and start sleeping around with other men and blame the husband for her irresponsible lifestyle.Finds her way out of the marriage to another marriage with another man ,still continue sleeping around and still put the blame on her former husband. Does that sounds sensible?

Nigerians are the only people on Earth that so much abuse their country, and accuse leadership for every choice they make.

Somebody will perpetrate corruption and blame poverty which he accused the leadership of the country of. Same person will get a good paying job that earns millions but increased his corruption by looting all resources. Is poverty the cause of that too?

Something is definitely wrong with the Nigeria gene and orientation

Bad gene produced bad leadership, bad people and bad country. I insist Nigeria is bad and are constantly producing bad people. You may be right not bad leadership but bad gene. However, genes can evolves and if we have good leadership for long, the bad genes will disappear.

so it is a function of gene not leadership. You get it now? So stop blaming leadership for crimes they commit in another country. In Nigeria here, they may always find excuse to hide under which they normally do. What of the ones they commit outside the shores in countries they claim is better than ours. And somebody will still come put the blame in the leadership of the country they left.

Average Nigeria person have this twisted ,and get rich quick mindset, hence the reason for their criminal acts. No thanks to our celebrities, and musicians that have imparted this get rich by all means mindset in our youths. Please stop blaming leadership for this crimes.

Nobody was born a thief but some bad homes stole until the stealing gene is embedded in there DNA hence the offspring becomes a thief by default whether rich or poor. That's the case of Nigeria. I don't think Nigerians were like this a century ago. Nigeria as a country is a bad home, first step is to fix the country first if not it will continue to produce bad eggs
