Okoye wondered how PVCs were found in millions for a local government with about 200,000 registered voters.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has started an investigation to verify claims that Permanent Voter’s Cards were recently found in a forest in Anambra State.

A viral video some days ago showed where numbers of PVCs were being displayed with the claim that a hunter found them while hunting inside the forest in Nnewi North, Anambra State.

But speaking on Channels Television’s The 2023 Verdict on Friday, INEC’s National Commissioner, Festus Okoye, questioned the legitimacy of the claim, calling on those with the claim to come and provide more information on where and how they found the PVCs.

“We are aware that there are some people and some forces that want to delegitimize this particular election. Now the total number of registered voters in that particular local government hovers around 250,000 but I watched that video and they were talking about millions of PVCs that were found.

“Incidentally, in that particular local government, we have almost over 99% of PVCs already collected. Now we have instructed our Resident Electoral Commissioner and Electoral Officer for that particular local government to make a report to the DSS and to the police.

“And then those people responsible for that particular incident must be invited, let them tell us where they found those PVCs, how they found those PVCs because we need to investigate and know whether the PVCs are from the Commission or whether some people cloned those PVCs in order to delegitimize the work of the Commission and also delegitimize the electoral process,” Okoye said.

Assuring that the INEC has made necessary reports on the issue, Okoye wondered how PVCs were found in millions for a local government with about 200,000 registered voters.

He said the people that found the PVCs and the radio station it was allegedly displayed should be called in the Department of Security Services for more explanations.

“So, if the PVSc were found in millions for a local government that registered just around 200,000 then some people have a question to answer, let those who found the PVCs and the radio station where those PVCs were displayed go to the DSS and police and make a report and if they don’t make that particular report.

“We have also instructed that the report should be made and they should be called in to come and account for how they found the PVCs because we have not heard of a situation where hunters are now hunting PVCs rather than hunting animals in the forest. So let them come and explain to us how they came about hunting PVCs in the forest,” Okoye added.

Funny

What INEC should be concerned about are two things. One, who dumped them in the bush. Two, were they collected by their rightful owners? That's all.

Pobing them because of the local government registration figure is illogical. PVCs can be moved from one local government, state or country to another.

Wait! Who counted the PVCs and who confirmed the accuracy of the figure?

The PVCs are legit and have been handed to the rightful owners. According to INEC records, they have been collected by their 'owners' that's why Anambra state has a collection rate of 98%.

This afternoon I was asking one my customers who z actually from Kastina who he be voting for in the presidential election tomorrow n he said fitter Obi (Peter Obi). I asked him y? And he said that both Atiku, Tinubu n Buhari are dsame. He went ahead to tell me how terrorist killed his family n loved ones numbering over one hundred person's in one day. I was eager to hear wat d government did concerning d ugly incident knowing fully well dat our President z from dat part of the country n young man tearfully said nothing was done. Dat Buhari and d governor did as if nothing happened. He sounded so angrily, l felt d emotion in his voice n body language. I managed to control my tears.
My advice z u dat want to vote for dat candidate of ur choice, z to think twice. Dat person (s) you want to vote for z he or she directly or indirectly involved in what d masses av been going through in this past 8yrs? Den consider how ur decision tomorrow at d polling unit will/may affect the future!!!
VOTE, NO VIOLENCE.
GOD BLESS YOU.

It is very clear that the entire pvc system n that local government might not be upto 300k, however the total number of those pvc found is not also upto 50k.

It was a deliberate plan by someone in Inec to disenfranchise those people so that they will use them to rig elections. From INec data base, morethan 90% of pvc there have been collected. Someone in the Inec ticked that all have collected meanwhile they dumped it inside boss. I just pity the said staff that collected money to do such thing, from the look of things, the plans did not work so he/she will have to vomit the money.

INEC has done enough but four dents is poking at their reputation

1. PVCs found in Nnewi forest after saying nobody registered there

2. Not removing Lagos REC even after visible signs of ethnic profiling

3. Osun election overvoting saga inspite of BVAS

4. Not including party name in the ballot, why change format different from 2019?

They will always come up with one excuse or the other to suppress the truth... whomever on earth has the time and resources to clone such ridiculous amount of PVC's within a short period of time should automatically be given an appointment in INEC headquarters with immediate effect...!!

Atiku and his cohort's voice was heard on tape planning to rig election, they said it's fake, wonder if it would be fake if it were Tinubu and Faleke's voice. This is not the first time Atiku is been caught on tape, he was also caught on tape talking about how they use SPV to launder money, again, no one is saying anything. It is when Atiku wins election that everyone will now be shouting bad governance when in the real since, it is the bad followers that elected them.

Now, PVC were found in millions - as claimed, they made it seem as if it was INEC that was disenfranchising some people, now INEC has said the local government is not supposed to have up to 300k PVCs. The INEC officer in that local government, is he/she not a member of that vicinity? They all must be arrested and explain themselves.
