Election: We Are Worried By Threats Of Intimidation And Violence - Abdulsalami Abubakar

Nigeria's former Military Head of State and Chairman of the National Peace Committee, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.) on Thursday, March 16, called for peace in the coming governorship and house of assembly election, IGBERETV reports.

Abdulsalami who disclosed that the organization has been following up with the same appeal that it made ahead of the presidential elections on February 25, 2023, also stated that the call for peace was necessitated by the open threats of intimidation and violence by certain elements within the society who are using ethnic and religious labels to achieve their intentions of voter suppression.

He said;

“The Presidential elections have come and gone. However, problems have arisen from the process of the collation, transmission and release of the final results. This has generated the crisis that we now find ourselves. Notwithstanding all this, we are pleased and encouraged by the matured attitudes of the candidates who contested the presidential election.

“We are encouraged by the restraint they have exhibited and their commitment to seek justice through due process. This is in keeping with the spirit of the Peace Accord. We therefore appeal to supporters of all the parties and our citizens to please follow the good example of their leaders and remain law abiding till the process is brought to an end.

“This weekend, on March 18 2023, the second round of elections for the Governorship and State Assemblies will be conducted. We are worried by the open threats of intimidation and violence by certain elements within the society who are using ethnic and religious labels to achieve their intentions of voter suppression.

“We appeal to the security and law enforcement agencies to remain alert and to bring to book, anyone, no matter their position in society, who poses a threat to the peaceful conduct of the elections. We encourage all citizens not to be intimidated and to go out and exercise their God given rights.”

Abdulsalami also asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that the elections are peaceful so as to gain the trust of Nigerians.

Timubu is a rascal. He orchestrated the violence that marred the presidential election and his boys are threatening to cause mayhem tommorow. ICC should do the needful.

Bullhari will do nothing!
Tibunu himself is the President of Agberos in Lagos and SW by extension
SanwoOlu himself is the facilitator for Agberos to thrive in Lagos.
MCMalumo is the Lagos unit head of Agberos
WickedWike is now working for APC so he'll be allowed to use his evil powers this period
Tinubu riffraffs are on standby on ground to commit their lives to thuggery for their paymasters

Nigeria is a finished business!

These obidiense should be warned not to heat up polity cos of their greed. Everyone should decide for their ethnicity. As small as their region is, no stranger can buy land or build house there. But because Yoruba are liberal and selfless, they want to use that to their advantages. We will all resist that tomorrow by voting the right candidates. Chinedu is a puppet in their hands as such we won't open our eyes and allow these greedy fellow to rule by proxy through Chinedu.

Is this not a terrible start for Tinubu, who is yet to be sworn in as president? Encouraging MC Oluomo to threaten voters, just as Oba Akiolu issued a genocide threat in 2015?

The insecurity of a Tinubu government is just too scary.

With the making use of Bvas I think rigging has reduced drastically but Majority of those panicking are those that are less popular but want to emerge by means of propaganda or who think social media can win an election for them.

The presidential candidates signed the peace accord twice, yet there were cases of violence on election day, no one was held responsible

To All Christians in Lagos.

These fools that are dragging Lagos with Yorubas are not worth of being called human beings. Remember how they prevented Pastor Kumuyi from having crusade in Aba just because he is from Yoruba land. Now they want to lay claim to nonsense in Lagos. It will never happen. They will accuse Yorubas of tribalism and yet their terrorist lord Kanu which Obi declared are his people could bold say that any Igbo man attending Yoruba Church is not fit to be a human being, and you want to allow such useless people that have no respect for God to dictate for you?

If you could be against the Muslim-Muslim ticket which you cannot even see in the Bible, this is the time to stop Chinedu and his gay supporter family. You all know that the Bible is against the homosexuality and you all know what Chinedu and his wife stand for.

They are in support of homosexuality and as you know God's anger and wrath are on such people and those that have pleasure in them. If you hated and refused to vote for Muslim-Muslim ticket, then you must be a fool and a fake Christian to vote for anyone that embraces homosexuality and that your objection to Muslim-Muslim ticket is on account of hatred, tribal and a ruse after all. Vote against anyone supporting homosexuality tomorrow so that you dont partake in their sins. A word is enough for the wise!
