The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has recently refuted false claims circulating online about the suspension of Fintech companies’ accounts, including OPAY and PALMPAY. According to the apex bank, these rumors are nothing but fake news.

Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, the CBN has not suspended the accounts of any Fintech companies in Nigeria.

The Acting Director, of Corporate Communications of CBN, Isa AbdulMumin, on Friday, March 24, 2023, in Abuja described the viral news as “simply fake’’.

Sha... don't leave plenty of money in any online bank with no physical branches nationwide.
Just use them to receive alerts instantly and transfer to your traditional commercial banks.

Fake news probably circulated by regular commercial banks because they are dominating. These banks are more efficient than the regular commercial banks and in the near future they would take over the market if the commercial banks don't step up
