The construction company handling the 26km Amansea - Ebenebe - Ugbenu - Ugbene - Awba Ofemili road project has successfully linked the Ugbene and Awba Ofemili communities after completing two box culverts/mini bridges measuring about 6m by 15m each.

Before now, some of these Awka North communities were classified as hard-to-reach areas because of the terrain but not anymore.

I-Witness.ng reporters observe that some areas along the stretch were sand-filled as high as 5 metres above the normal ground level due to the nature of the area.

Govt should try to plan these areas with wider roads and other amenities before any developer start any work.

Take Nkpor for instance. The govt did not mark out roads, Drinages,water supply or even waste management before Onitsha extended to it and you can see the result now!

AKPAKA GRA, ONITSHA ROAD PROJECTS WILL BE DELIVERED SOON -- Mr. Shaw

Mr. Shaw, the Project Manager of TEC Engineering company handling the construction of Akpaka GRA, Onitsha road projects has confirmed that the firm will deliver the roads in a few weeks time.

The contractor stressed that the company has delivered a kilometre spur in the estate and has laid stone base with cement stabilization on about 90% of the stretch and remaining only 300 metres to the main gate of the estate.

He emphasized that since the roads have existing drainage channels, that it was easier for the company to deliver the project in record time.

A shop-owner in the area, Mr. James Nwankwo who spoke to I-Witness.ng reporters commended the state government and Governor Soludo for delivering the project in record time.
