Now a little note about Bonobos and Chimpanzees.

You see above that Bonobos practice a matriarchy but Chimpanzees that they are most related to are the opposite. Males dominate amongst chimps just like human males.

Bonobos and Chimps are almost the same thing. But while Chimps are very aggressive and violent like humans, Bonobos are very non-aggressive. They use sex to diffuse any kind of tension.

They and Chimps were the same but they were separated and the environment in which each of them evolved was different.

Bonobos which are only found in Congo evolved in a part of the land where there was abundance and little threat from predators. So they lost their aggressive nature. Chimpanzees on the other hand evolved in a part of the land in which food was scarce and predators were more so they became more aggressive.

Testosterone is a hormone that is typically found more in males than females. Of course, Chimps have more testosterone than Bonobos. Testosterone makes people more aggressive, ambitious and want to impregnate people's daughters. It makes you do things that make you become a leader.

Interestingly, Female hyenas have more testosterone than their males. So the male is the lowest ranking member of a cackle of hyenas. A male is even lower in rank than a newborn female baby.
