*Former Reps Member, Tony Nwulu Hosts LP Imo Guber Candidate, Sen. Achonu*

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tony Nwulu has played host to the Labour Party governorship candidate in Imo State, Sen. Nneji Athan Achonu (Agu Otu Aka).

Hon. Nwulu, the chief sponsor of the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill, now an act received the former senator at his Guzape home in Abuja.

The duo held a closed door meeting which lasted for about an hour. Though details of the meeting was not disclosed to newsmen, it is not unconnected with the race to produce the next governor of Imo State in an election coming up later this year.

Hon. Nwulu, a vocal advocate of good governance in Nigeria is the CEO
SilverThrone Consulting Ltd, a leading government relations and lobbying firm -
Silverthroneconsulting.

Sen. Achonu had earlier in the month emerged the governoship candidate of Labour Party in Imo State after a successful primary election.

While announcing the result of the exercise, the returning officer and Abia-State governor-elect Alex Otti said Achonu polled 134 votes to beat his closest rival Major General Jack Ogunewe who scored 121.

Senator Achonu was elected into the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2015 to represent Imo North on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

However, in December 2015, the Appeal Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State capital upturned his election at the instance of the candidate of the Accord Party that his party’s logo was not included in the ballot papers used for the 2015 National Assembly election. The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Benjamin Uwajumogu was then declared the winner of the polls.

Those who accompanied him to the strategic meeting with Hon. Nwulu include, Sir Ken Njemanze SAN, Hon. Sir. Tochukwu Okere HOR member-elect, Owerri federal constituency, Hon. Clinton Amadi Labour Party HOA candidate for owerri Municipal among others.

One Arm General is a rugged politician who can fight the Supreme Court governor fire for fire. But can he defeat the SC governor? Only time will tell.

Charity they say begins at home. If they can be bribed in imo state, automatically they can be bribed anywhere in the country. When sense eludes someone, he talks garbage. The Presidential election was a different election for many Nigerians to redeem their country. LP won Presidential election nation wide because people want a new set of good governance at federal level not APC or PDP. It's different from State level. Peter Obi is not on ticket in Governorship election. Get some sense.

An ordinary guy that rode on the back of GEJ's PDP to win the Oshodi/Isolo federal constituency in Lagos in 2015. Went to national assembly and made his money without any visible presence in his constituency.
I hope the labour party guy that won that constituency in 2023 will be active and let his presence be felt in Isolo. The current representative, Abiodun Johnson of APC, did very well. He was always doing one project or the other in Isolo. I voted for him. Sad that he lost to the "Obidient" movement candidate in this 2023.
