Yeah I have that amount. But that includes getting a laptop and paying for the program

2013-2015 retina models
Or
2020 above.
The 2016-2019 keyboards are not reliable, though it got better from the 2018 above, but in the 2020 models they had to switch back to the keyboards used on the pre 2015 models. The keyboards that had issues are the butterfly keyboard, you can research it.
2016,2017 had same keyboard issues and display issues, on some models due to overheating of the display flex. That's why you'll see some with line on display or deinterlance.
You may be lucky when you get any of the 2016_2019 models, and It may serve a long time before running into issues, majorly keyboard.
But me personally, I like to avoid them.
The 2013 to 2015 are tanks, very reliable and are very good for starting, as you progress you can sell off and upgrade.
Either that or you get the newer ones.
I wouldn't recommend macbook air, because of their display quality on the pre 2017 models, they switched to 1080p In 2018 but still had the butterfly keyboard
But I think a 2020 macbook air and above is okay.
