The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian entrance examination body for tertiary-level institutions, and it was established by the Act (No. 2 of 1978) of the then Federal Military Government on 13 February 1978.

From that time until 2016, JAMB remitted less than ₦60 million to the coffers of the Federal Government i.e. averaging less than ₦1.6m remittance every year.

From August 2016 to May 2023, JAMB has remitted over ₦55 billion to the Federal Government, i.e. now averaging more than ₦7.8bn per year.

In other words, in less than 7 years, the current management of JAMB has remitted more than 900 times what was made in the prior 38 years of JAMB’s existence!
