God bless Nigeria, the west have been building and running refineries since the 1800's, refineries are not news to them anymore.

I think the company has enough money to pay for airtime so their refinery can be advertized to the world by the international broadcast medias you mentioned if they want to. Were you hoping to see a free advert?! Its a private establishment.

Why are you looking for western validation ? Why do you really want them to swoon in ecstacy for you over a technology that is over a hundred years old and they themselves will soon phase out going by the improvements in electric and hydrogen cell powered vehicles ? Why not just focus on yourself and thank you God a refinery is finally here to ease the stress your people are going through. Na wa for una o cool

Today, I decided to use the YouTube to search major and popular western TV channels like Sky news, BBC, CNN. One thing that I conspicuously noticed is the fact that they all did not report the news about the commissioning of such a huge project and the few not so known Channels that reported it did so sparingly using our local tv transmission.

Haba!!!!!!

They will always rush to report live any bad news about Nigeria and Africa such as Militancy, Terrorisms, Internet frauds and so on.

The west bias is abjectly disgraceful.

Africa need to take it's place in the world of great possibilities and Godwilling, this is the begining of something great and innovative on our continent. We cannot and should not continue to be slaves generations after generations for the rest of our existences...

The Arabians got emaciated and pull themselves out of penury and today, even the wests can not do without visiting UAE and the rest of the gulf countries.

Africa can be great too.
Igbos, Hausa, Yoruba, Nupe, Fulani, Idoma, Ogonis, Ebira, etc and the rest of Africa should embrace positivies and unison. This way, we can go far ahead be accorded our own respect.
God bless Nigeria
God bless Africa.

First you should understand that these media you mentioned have their audiences. They spend more time reporting about their countries than others because that's where most of their audience is based.

Secondly you are looking at the wrong "Western news media". Those are political channels. They don't give thatmuch attention to economic news even when it's in the US talk more of international media. Where you're much likely to find a report on Dangote's project is at Bloomberg, Forbes, WSJ etc.

You blame the West for everything including for our ineptitude. Who built the refinery? Not the West?
