Why then is NNPCL adjusting pump prices of petrol? It shows Tinubu is desperate to make it look like Buhari ended it on his exit from office and not a case of him triggering it on assumption of office. Let Tinubu take a leaf from his advise to Buhari in 2021 about recruiting 50,000 army personel and equally employ 10,000 into the border patrol to infiltrate smuggling rings and keep consumption of petrol down. That's around N10B a year and less than subsidy for a day. |

The price increase is to enable the marketers to raise enough money now to pay for petrol at higher prices from July 1 ST..when the prices really start going up. If they do not do it now, they won't be able to afford petrol at the new prices....and that means july would be a month of scarcity. 4 Likes |

THAT WAS THE BUDGET PROVISION. THE ACTUAL RESULT NOW IS "STOP" SUBSIDY BEFORE SUBSIDY STOPS US-by GCON. |

*_A friend just sent a text saying "this is the last week I'll beg all of you to sell off your 2nd, or 3rd cars, because as from next week, it'll be a buyers market, that ya AMG will be sold for less than 3M, because people will offload cars just to buy generator fuel" PS, go for solar power now oo, before it cost 10M for 5KvA power solution.... 3 Likes |

When the NNPL GMD announced the increase in petrolatum products prices after meeting with Tinubu even though we were meant to believe that the subsidy payment has been provided for till the end of June, I sensed that the scamming has already started. God will see us through. 1 Like |

nairalanda1:Which higher prices are you talking about again? Marketers and higher prices? How? Where? Prices that are crashing in the international market as we speak. Please explain further |
Re: Subsidy Was Provided For Until June 30 In 2023 Budget by nairalanda1(m): 6:48am On Jun 01 |
VeeVeeMyLuv: Simple....when prices go up after June 30, the marketers would now be buying petrol at higher prices. At the end, better start making money now to pay for petrol at higher prices from July 1....by raising prices, or the money you make selling fuel at subsidised prices won't be enough to pay the new price. Simple. |

Jagaban is shaking everyone with this fuel thing, even if a ltre is 2k him and his household can boldly afford it. I hope they use the subsidy money wisely or unwisely. Many people will sell their cars and possibly generators ![]() 1 Like |

nairalanda1:Trash. What about the alleged loots by subsidy thieves? Suddenly the marketer no longer have money after allegedly stealing for decades. Now we know who the thieves are. |

nairalanda1:Why is there subsidy... You guys are just enabling these guys because of politics to steal us blind. The prices isn't going up in the international market. These fluctuations is due to subsidy. Provision for subsidy was made for June, it wasn't paid. Bro that money has been pocketed... Naija will be great again |
Re: Subsidy Was Provided For Until June 30 In 2023 Budget by nairalanda1(m): 12:23pm On Jun 01 |
donb06: Yeah, and when the subsidy goes, and the subsidised fuel finishes, they still have to buy fuel at higher prices next month. If they do not make money now, they won't have enough to buy fuel at the new prices next month...and you know that means scarcity. |

Standing5: Well, that's business. If you wanted to have stopped subsidy, y'all should have met your lawmaker to oppose the PIA bill when it was being considered. 1 Like |
