Emmanuel Jay Heart Foundation, a non-governmental organisation focused on assisting indigent Nigerian children with cardiac-related disease live has carried out awareness programme in Abuja communities as part of activities marking the 2023 World Heart Day.

The foundation also visited some select hospitals in Abuja to donate foods and other relief materials to patients.

Founded in 2019 by Nollywood actress, Jay Sharon, Emmanuel Jay Heart Foundation is dedicated to helping under-privileged children with various cardiac diseases get life-saving surgeries within and outside Nigeria.

At the awareness campaign in Abuja, the foundation and its volunteers had visited some communities to raise their consciousness on the existence of Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and other heart-related diseases which can cause deaths on children few months after their birth.

Speaking at the programme, the founder, Jay Sharon said she was inspired to go into this aspect of humanitarian campaign following the death of his son, Emmanuel Jay just three months after his birth as a result of complications from Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).

According to her, the congenial heart defect impeded his son's aortic valve from closing properly, leading to his death.

The young Prince Emmanuel Jay she stated battled for life with the aid of oxygen concentrator and mobile oxygen cylinder (P.O.C) after so much resources was expended to make him live, but to no avail.

The foundation which was named after him to immortalise him is targeted at ensuring that indigent children from less privileged homes with similar health challenges are assisted to live.

Some of the hospitals visited include, National Hospital Abuja, Maitama District Hospital Abuja, Asokoro District Hospital, Garki District Hospital, Wuse District Hospital, Gwarimpa District Hospital, Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital, Kubwa General Hospital. Dutse General Hospital, Nyanya General Hospital, FCMB Hospital Abuja and others.

Receiving the team, the Public Relations Officer Abuja National Hospital, Dr. Tayo Haastrup expressed gratitude for their thoughtfulness and prayed for God's love upon them for the donations.

You guys should always refrain from taking pictures of people you give things freely without begging you and post on social media...

You can only post all the items you went to donate, putting innocent faces online is bad...
