Hi, iam working on a school portal. I want 2use drupal or joomla to ease work. I dont know if anybody has a scrip or already written code 2 ease my work. It will include scratch card processing system for registration and check of result. And one card to only one reg. number. Thanks

i wrote a similar school portal with Joomla it was a time conscious thing just had 10 days though we covered a lot, but there were lots of issues due to not enough time to test. first generate your cards for you to use, then in the registration once a student registers lock that student matric to a scratch card and also because its a multi site user meaning multiple people will be online, you will need to do a dynamic caching that caches on session id else it will be painfuly slow. my email is okeowoaderemi@gmail.com contact me for more info. take care bro also i'd advise to use a light framework apart from Joomla, Joomla was painfully resource intensive on its own now compared with large DB Calls.

What of wordpress?

Wordpress caters for blogging it wud be possible but more work in making compared to joomla. Use drupal or pure php or any php framework without cms because a school portal is resource intensive CMS like joomla eat space but a simple PHP web app will do the trick.

SCRATCH CARD / PIN
The BIIS Online School Result Checking and computing Solution is installed free for interested schools, but our scratch card/PINs is needed for students to check their individual result.
The school orders and pays for the scratch card or PIN numbers from BIIS Online School Result Checking and computing Solution Independent Regional Partner (IRP). The PIN is distributed to each student after the payment of fees or to parent.
One scratch card/PIN can only be used by one student, the scratch card / PIN number has expiry date, which is functional for only a school term or number of times used limit.

STUDENT REGISTRATION NUMBER
Student can only be able to check their individual result with the use of SCRATCH CARD / PIN and their Student REGISTRATION NUMBER. The REGISTRATION NUMBER is entered during the student registration process on BIIS Online School Result Checking and computing Solution admin area

Add Principal Signature: This tab is used to add the principal's or headteacher's signature just the way it will appear on the result
Add Term / Semester: This tab is used to add the school terms appear on the result
STUDENT:
Add Student: This is used to add new student details
Upload Student CSV: This allows you to upload list of existing students in excel format.
View Student: This contains the list of all students in the school
Export Student: This allows you to export list of existing students in excel format.

EXAM SETTINGS:
Add Score & Grade: With this tab you can add the minimum score, maximum score, grade for each score range and remarks for each score range can be added
Add Exam: Here is where you add the CA (test) and Exams names with their total maximum marks for each term
Result Generate: Result generate makes available text area where admin can input the actual scores of a student per subject. This is all admin needs to do, the rest is automatically done by the application.
What does student’s result sheet looks like?
The student's report sheet automatically produced by the BIIS ResultSet contains the:

school name, school address, logo, name of student, school academic term, student class, number of students in the class, position of the student in the class,
Columns:
subjects column, examination mark column, total mark per subject, in percentage, the grade per subject column, the position of the student per subject, The number of student per subject in the class, The Highest and lowest scores per subject in the class, remarks
Report Summary:
