Ibos did not vote for obasanjo because of any nationalism but because they had no option and all regions voted for PDP except the west. In 2015 when we had two national parties, both APC and pdp, out of hatred for north and west, they gave 95 % of their votes to PDP. The same in 2019 because of Peter obi who was atikus running mate, they even suspended their Biafra campaign for Atiku. The yorubas who had osibanjo on APC ticket splitter their votes. In 2023 they thought tinubu, Atiku and kwankwaso would split northern votes and they voted 98% for their brother obi and voted for other ibos in apc. Obi won some states in the north and west but no other candidate got 10% in the east.
So not only ibos voted PDP between 1999 to 2007 but all other regions did cos PDP was the only national party

Wrong. In 2003, Obasanjo's controlled INEC announced results before people finished voting. Those days voting was a mere formality. Ojukwu actually had a decent outing in the South East.

There was no how a major actor in Nigeria's civil war would be elected by other tribes to lead the country.
