I want 2change my car from the c220 to the Bmw,i just want to know which will come out on top in terms of PERFORMANCE alone,as for reliability,i know the toyota wins. |

but why is the benz slow to build up speed, My benz 0-60mph does 18sec. Camry 2.2 0-60mph 13sec Tested. But above 60mph, my C220 is fire!! butt he low end torque is annoying, off the mark is crap! |

yungboss: If your Mercedes-Benz C220 does 0-60 mph in 18 secs, it must be ill. The C200 does 0-60 mph in 11,1 secs, with 136 bhp. The C220 has 150 bhp, so 18 seconds means something's seriously wrong. Or you're using a watch, against your speedo? |

Siena:i was about saying the same thing o. even worse. first off, its an embarassment to even compare thin light wt c-class in terms of performance. even the reliabilituy everyone shouts about, wats so special? every car is reliable in its own way. bytheway, ur c-class is nt sick. its dying! |

cars generally tend to lose a little bit of their horses with ageing. the C class in question might be old and not properly maintained, in addition, if its an old automatic and the shift process is no longer factory standard, delays are possible, i suspect horses are dying in your torque conversion. why are you using the 318i as a mode of comparison for the BMW, the engine capacity seems smaller to the other contenders, the BMW 320 or 323 shld be a better match, |

I compared the 3 cars cos they are all 4cylinders. I got fed up of the c class, i just got me a bmw 320i,1994 or so, 68000km on the clock! 148hp,140lb-ft torque,0-60mph in 9sec. Now thats more like what i want. Awesome ride,nice roar,love the OBC and rain sensing wipers. |

I think the Camry would tend to outsmart the other two, just ONLY for the first 5-seconds, but the BMW would wipe it behind after just five seconds, then it would be between the C220 and the 318, at this stage its the mindset of the driver, as for me, I think I can drive my C220 thru anything... behind the wheels, I pray d BMW driver or the camry driver would have the mind to push harder to beat the Benz. maybe it should have been BMW 325i, vs C-class 280, vc Camry, 3.0 ... all six cylinders.... |

Throw in a 328i and both cars (c280 and camry) will be left gaping for breadth |
