Shiit, he single-handed made grime popular in the US, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia with sold out shows everywhere. And he's an independent artist running his own record company with his brother.

You've to be British with a proper understanding of London slangs to be able to understand the rest of them, due to the accent. Dizzee Rascal and Ghetto are two classic example. That's cos grime started in East London and a lot of people from East tend to speak with bits of cockney flair in their accent. Skepta is from North London, hence he's like that. And most people from South and West London don't really do grime (we're more into rap/trap music) and the few that do aren't really major, until recently with Stormzy and Novelist.

Lol. Let me show you why I said John Lennon. In the beatles, John Lennon was the most artistic, creative, and elusive one - while Sir Paul McCartney embraced the fame and he's the most popular one. John Lennon also seldom did interviews and he hated what the system stood for, hence he rejected a knighthood. But they raved about him all the time.

With Skepta: he's also like that. He seldom does interviews and he's very elusive. He's also very artistic and creative with his craft. And he also hates the system. But he single-handedly made grime popular in America, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia...and a lot of US rappers gravitate towards him.
