Hello All,

I have my office in sapele near electricity providers Plant.
we are having Vsat connection there but service is really poor.

can anybody tell me, what option we have for internet in sapele.
something like broadband or wimax connection possible over here ?
if above are not possible then let me know what are possbile options or give me some service provider name and contact. so, i may communicate with them for solution.

1. If the power station is interfering with your vsat signals, you can relocate the vsat to a place with better reception and link back to your office via cable, fibre or wireless.

2. Have you tried Starcomms, MTN or Airtel corporate broadband solutions?

humm i dont know about Airtel but people talk with MTN and they told we have to build a huge tower ourself then only they will be able to provide us their services,

what other corporate solution exist in nigeria ?

I am new in nigeria and i am deputed in Abuja, i just went for a visit to sapele. so, dont have much information.
but let me answer your question.

1) I am not so, sure either there is some disturbance in signals or not because its slow all the time.

2) its just attached to PHCL terminal so, i believe its a village sort of place.

3) I found MTN and Airtel signal there. although calls doesnt get connect on first dial

currently we have 512 kbps bandwidth there. i believe we have to increase but how much and with whom, this is yet to be explore.
currently using skylinks Vsat.

we are also running 6 IP cameras there and i believe IP camera must be making impact on overall bandwidth.

Ok. Thanks for the info.

Further diagnosis will have to be based on physical site survey and inspection.

Based on your answers, the options are:

1. Ascertain if the current vsat slow speed is as a result of interference and relocate it, or if its a bandwidth issue and improve it.

2. Provide a microwave backhaul from the nearest town. Either using your own vsat or that of another ISP.
