If I may ask, do u supply ur customers quarry waste? If u do, then stop as soon as possible. Quarry waste varies from quarry to quarry. what is waste in quarry A may be anoda thing in quarry b.
And I never said u did & never quoted u.

And also, was this the reason y u engaged me on whatsapp and also phone call yesterday? And also telling me I can't compete wit u and also telling me dat I should go and ask dat no one has ever been in competition with and no one has ever reached ur height of supply on Nairaland? Or who has this 2 phone numbers (08032887233 whatsapp & 08055545355 calls).
I owe u no explanation sir but if u supply ur customers which isn't my headache quarry waste, stop but u if don't then it's ur problem.

Av u ever seen where Gtb gives out her mode of operation to first bank? Or where Pepsi reveals her secrets to Coca Cola?
Wit due respect sir, I owe u no explanation.
I want to belive dat we had both supplied d same site with stone dust before and the difference was clear and d most qualitative stone dust showed.

U know I told u dat I would report u to my lawyer to advise me further on what to do about u? I think I av to act as soon as possible in order to secure my life.

Bro, do u know any knowledge about business or entrepreneurship etc when there r competitions? U don't go approach ur competitors face to face becos thats too raw and unprofessional but work hard on ur Marketing(a very constructive and persuasive one), services and delivery.
And also show them d stuff u r made of or u change scope or u rebrand. U can see how the builders and engineers here show and market their products? Maybe they need new scopes from u. If ur customers av queried u of supplying dem quarry waste, u convince dem and let dem understand dat u didn't.

U do not own Nairaland also, u r not Seun. Just do what is right and customers that are wise will judge.
U just kept shouting I should stop misleading ppl. Which one is misleading ppl here now? Or r u part of d suppliers dat do such?

U know I showed u over d whatsapp chat a picture where u deceived customers about something 15tons, was that truly 15tons? u couldn't answer but kept saying I should stop misleading ppl and no one can compete wit u on nairaland.

Bro, I'm not interested in u so, pls stop quoting me and never whatsapp me or call me again. I took those first ones as a mistake from u but d next one won't be taken as such but would take it as a threat to my life from a competitor and would take it up legally.

For d last time sir checkitaut, like I told u over whatsapp, I'm not obliged to show u any explanation.
But d only advice i av for u is 'Make sure u always do d right things'.

Kindly face ur line sir.

Any customer who's interested in knowing the difference can hook me up... My signature says it all.

I'm not on here to make enemies but just the right customers. And my thread is open for any kinda remark from any customer to post his or her experience with me.

Goodluck sir.

It is a pity that some people are using big grammar and sweet names to claim lord of granite here, they are liars. I only know of two people out of here on nairaland that are quarry agent others are third parties relying on the info that their quarry customer furnished them only come on nairaland to brag. I have worked with a lot of quarries in Abeokuta as a scale man still working with one now. The facts that some of them buy from quarry agent. I only know of two quarry agent, one is within 40 who is a nairalander and the other One is in his early 30 thirties. In 2009/10, we knw hw many of them on ground but some people who are far away from happening in quarry suddenly jacked through the use of big grammars. The questions is that, hw do you sit in lagos and claiming to be a quarry agent. There is a strict procedure to become quarry agent period

Lol

I will sir but it would be at my own will and wish.
And I can never succumb to a moniker dat sees me as a competitor sir...
Pls try to understand.
U can follow my thread and I promise to say the difference within 7 days from now but it's going to be on my thread and also conditional.

I am ready to forfeit Smiley001 on nairaland if there's noting like quarry waste but if I'm able to tell everybody the difference and show to ppl on here dat there's quarry waste, den d other moniker should be ready to forfeit his nairaland acct.

If he agrees to the contest den its fine with me to but if otherwise...

But dis is just a hint, Google is everybody's friend.

Quarry waste varies from quarry to quarry. What is a waste to quarry A (due protection of good name)maybe stone dust to quarry B (they dont send good name) but can be detected by laboratory test and also a physical test and it's caused by d size of d sieve of a quarry crusher.

Dats all I can say for now.

Cheers all.

Competition in business is always good for the end users or d final consumers but not too good for older companies when the newer ones r threats to them.

If any supplier on here sees Smiley001 as a threat to them, we can negotiate and if the price is good to us... U can buy Smiley001 out rightly if u av d liquidity and we seize to exist.
Facebook just did it...

Excellent, so I will see if he'll give me a quote and more importantly be strong enough to deliver to my site since I apparently have powerful spiritual entity there cheesy grin

But yes trustworthiness is a biggie for me. Trustworthiness is not only about money and quantity though they are important traits, for me it also includes doing what you say you will do or at least manning up and being a straight shooter instead of flip flopping like a rubber slipper on a sunny beach and coming up with stories.

Recently, 3storey building collapsed in Lagos, analysis put all building problem to substandard materials, substandard materials can go as far as the nail.

I think whatever we do on this forum is not majorly marketing but educate anyone that really seek for information. Smile001 you see my comment as being too confronting, sorry for that.

When I started with this forum I engineered the post ur price, many were surprised, but used it as benchmark to bid quot, it works for them. Its my joy when you carryout building with less budget n quality outcome.

Concrete roof decking, processes

Decked roof may not give you too many options in terms of design, but it also has its own advantages and quite a few uses decked roof.

Before you decide on using decked roof or concrete slab to cover your structure you must have factor the weight during design process.

In this case we are looking at flat concrete roof.

CONSIDERATIONS

i-You must factor in the load on the foundation with your structural design/drawing due to extra weight.

ii-The granite chippings should be very small like half inch or 3/4down ,the finer the granules/aggregates , the more impermeable to water the concrete becomes, larger aggregates creates too many air pores that can allow water to drip into the inner part of the building.

iii-There should be high cement aggregate minimum should be 1:2:4 but ideally 1:1 ½:3 or less

iv-The mixing process of cement ,sand but preferably stone dust, and granite should be thorough, using hand mixing is not advisable, the machine should be given time to mix properly and water should also be adequate to have a thorough mix

v-Application of water resisting materials on the surface of the roof deckis important like bituminous felt etc

vi-The bamboo studs and the carpentary formwork must be done near perfect to forestall defects in the concrete decking.

Hence, these are the basic steps-

-Do your formwork

-Apply the iron rods

-Cast the concrete mix with water resisting cement

-Screed the top of the decking with cement and sand and make it slope downwards to the side of building where it can easily be channeled through drainage pipe to gutter or make it have direct fall to the ground.

Question and Answer time. Here is a question from a
nairalander and below it, is the answer from us:
....................................................................................
PeoplesArmy:
Even if the correct quantity is loaded from the quarry, is
it possible the drivers can discharge some before getting
to site? How do you guard against this?
....................................................................................
Smiley001:
This is very possible and the drivers do it almost everytime.
This is what some customers get when they want to cut
cost by all means by contacting a driver to supply you
instead of contacting the company the driver works for.
It's called Yodi, they do it on their way to site.

This is how they do it, when they get to where they want to
do the Yodi, they don't tip up the bucket neither do they use
the shovel to offload but they leave d granite as it is in the
bucket balanced they then open the bucket's door...
Automatically, granites resting on the buckets door would
fall off and come down. This would make you loose like 2
tons or more depending on how full the bucket is and the
size of the bucket. It stops till they are able to close or lock
the bucket comfortably and conveniently without any
hassle.

How do you get to know if the driver has done Yodi?
If u order for a full bucket of material, when it gets to your
site,
before tipping ask dem to open the bucket's door first and if
a reasonable quantity of granite doesn't wash down or fall
off before tipping then just know the driver has done a Yodi.

Nb: Not that I'm supporting all suppliers on here becos I'm
also a supplier but this is a common sense question. Would a fulfilled supplier ever do that? The answer is a capital 'NO'. Why becos those drivers sell dos things cheaply.

Imagine, selling a Yodi of about 3 tons for like 2k. would a
supplier dat is registered wit a quarry do dat? something
dat costs up to 7.5k. We at Smiley, we sack those drivers immediately and the nurtw union the drivers belong to doesn't even support them on this but us and sack them as well.

How can u avoid this? Just get a good, registered and
trusted supplier/agent that coordinates her operations very
well right from receiving order to d dilevery of materials.
And also one dat fears God and always puts her customers
first. All u need to do is get a very good supplier dat has
good name to protect.

Ring us now now and place ur orders: 07081961127-

Let me step further by looking into advantage and disadvantages of a concrete decking

Advantages

-It last longer than any kind of roof

-It also doubles as a sit out on roof if access is created with staircase to the roof

-It can be designed to accommodate another floor thereby the roof becomes a higher floor and blocks are raised up, but the additional weight must have been factored in the design.

-If it is well done leakages are very unlikely for many years to come

Disadvantages

-Conduct heat to the interior especially at night after long hours of absorbing the scorching sun during the day.

-Maintenance can be problematic if it was not properly done

-You can’t change the roof style easily without serious structural work which you enjoy with other types of roof

-No room for multiple design patterns like other styles of roof, therefore you may not achieve much aesthetically

getting familiar with the importances and application of Hardcore

Question:

Paradox, I have done casting and filling with laterite, do I need to use hardcore again or bricks before german floor. Is thought is just ramming the laterite.

Hardcore application in the building process is also as important as any of the key stages . Hardcore is reffered to as some measures of large aggregates of stones used as part of the foundation in a construction project. To simple put is bigger aggregates of what you call granites on site. Though some uses broken blocks /bricks, these are however not recommended because of their strenght, people only use them to save cement during casting of oversite/german concrete which is not advisable.

Hardcore is applied after you have filled the internal part of your foundation with laterite or sharp sand as the case may be, rammed and ready to apply iron rods/wire mesh and concrete.

IMPORTANCE

-Hardcore strengthens or solidifies the base which the german concrete will sit on, thereby helps in resisting pressure of dead and live loads on the ground floor.

-It gives good base for building

-Is also part of foundation

-it helps to save cost of construction, the volume occupied by the hardcore if it were to be concrete it would have cost more.

-Is a gap between the german floor /oversite concrete and the earth so it helps to reduce movement of water up to the ground floor

-The air in between the hardcore if there is any will also help to reduce movement of water.

- it reduces the time of casting because you are using lesser volume of concrete to when you are casting the entire mass.
